nice deck so far I'm building one just like it. ok for a bit of tips and tricks you can do Blind Obedience to slow down agro deck and to keep your life up, take out the guild mage and replace with Snapcaster Mage to refund your counters and your control cards. think about adding in a Sorin, Lord of Innistrad for chumpblockers and lifelink and also add in a few Orzhov Charm to get ride of early game cards that are annoying .

Oh, I completely agree. Blind Obedience is amazing, but something I'd want to sideboard. I couldn't think of something to take out. Snapcaster Mages... I would if I had ~$90 to blow on them... And that $90 would go to completing my land base... And I really like the idea of Sorin, perfect card for this! I'll have to look into acquiring one.

Have you considered Negate over Syncopate ? You have a lot of board wipes and creature removal as is, and while running Psychic Strike as well for a hard counter, I think the fact that negate only counters non-creatures won't affect you so much. It's a lot cheaper than syncopate to boot too.

Another card:Sphinx's Revelation wouldn't hurt either if you could get your hands on one I think. Looks kinda similar to my Esper control deck though, I like it!

@Grimstar:

No, I hadn't. I love Syncopate 'cause it can be a turn two creature counter. I'll have to sideboard those. I tried to avoid specific counters and I think sideboarding those would make a substantial difference against control/burn decks. Oh, I'd love another Sphinx's Revelation, but, as you implied, they're hard to get a hold of.
