Hi and welcome! Thank you for reading this explanation.
I am attempting a devotion deck that has a control style to it. Very little in the way of actual control cards save things like Geist of Saint Traft and Spell Pierce, But rather leans more on permanents to do its work. Things like Stasis Snare and
Temporal Isolation
Give it some control, flash style agianst creatures. The Detention Spheres, Oblivion Rings and
Banishing Light
s give it the permanent solutions on a Surgical Extraction padded distribution of power. Each creature has, at worst shroud with the only exception being 3 Geist of Saint Traft having hexproof.
Calciderm
and
Deft Duelist
are 2 really aggresively priced creatures that fit super well!
Now the deck does have 26 land but the fact is, do not count Ghost Quarter in the lands... They should be looked at in an opening hand as a nonland card, as they fill the place of one.
It cannot be overlooked that if:
Calciderm
Manifested then flipped does not have the vanishing counters on it and therefore does not have to be sacked because of vanishing.
Temporal Isolation
On your own Geist of Saint Traft for pure card advantage!
Mastery of the Unseen
What a genuinely amazing card! 4 mana for a 2/2 creature with a "I wonder what that is" in store, on instant speed off the top of your deck is GREAT I dont care who you are!
Really digging the way this deck has come together so far!
Would really love some input especially with the new bans taking their effect, Never know whats viable.
This all tied with
Mastery of the Unseen
make a really smooth game where you never feel really out of control.
