Give away your stuff and then blow it up !... Wait, What ?
So this is a weird one.
Imagine an Esper deck with a Switcheroo concept, but also... Benefits on destroying your own enchantments !
Feel charitable with your donations, but nefarious with your intentions !
This is a weird concept, I can't find a whole lot of info on this, but I'm trying to set up a good system of checks and balances. The core concepts of card types you have can be summarized into 5 parts.
- What you should donate ?
- How you can donate it ?
- How will you destroy it after donation ?
- What utility do you have to defend yourself ?
- Your Mana supply to work with.
The checks and balances comes in on that there is always a positive benefit to your opponent taking your creature. The card Evil Eye of Orms-by-Gore is a good example. Even if they take the Eye, The deck has a playset of Wall of Denial which can block them and also has Shroud to protect itself from any effect. Giving the opponent and Eye creature also shuts down the ability to attack with Non-eye creatures; An almost disabling enchantment effect much like Steel Golem. Soltari Visionary is also a good example because it's most likely going to be the only creature with Shadow in the game due it being... 2022 and no one plays with Shadow anymore. With Soltari Visionary, either attack for free Enchantment destruction or donate it and have a free outlet to destroy your Hatching Plans; Just be careful what else you might have in play.
The Enchantment Donation is mainly executed with Donate, Puca's Mischief, or Sudden Substitution. This is mainly for Illusions of Grandeur and Delusions of Mediocrity. You would then want to blow these up and since you are no longer the controller, the opponent will lose the life from them. Donate is the cleanest and simplest way to donate, but Puca's Mischief is the most consistent and has the most control.
Enchantment destruction can take place in 2 ways; Your side of the battlefield or your opponents. On your side, you can utilize Hatching Plans and Aura Blast to refresh your hand with more fuel, but after you've given something away to your opponent with a Donate Card, you can destroy that to reap those benefits. Even more impressive is if you can use Peace and Quiet or Echoing Calm to blow up 2 or more things. Plus with Peace and Quiet, you have the freedom to mix and match your side/their side or 2 targets on a single side.
Creature Exchange is much easier to do, however the donating function is still as difficult as Enchantment Donation due to the creature swapping cards mentioned here like Legerdemain, Switcheroo, and the previously mentioned donation cards requiring your opponent has to have something... So this can be hard.
One of the creatures that really helps swapping work is Steel Golem, which is also one of the hardest cards in the deck to time as to when to play it. Giving your opponent Steel Golem both shuts down their ability to play creatures but also gives you a swabble target for an Enchantment with Puca's Mischief; Seeing that the enchantments you want to destroy have a casting cost of 4, while Steel Golem's is 3.
