This was the deck I played at the TCG Player Platinum this past weekend at ARG in Akron, Ohio. The meta was very shifted to out racing Mono-Black and matching up evenly with Mono-Blue. Naturally this meant that besides the net deckers, which is perfectly understandable when Platinum points/cash/ and entry to the TCG $50k are on the line. The deck was the most controlling control I could play as far as I'm concerned. I wasn't specifically chasing favored matchups, however this list played very well with the flood of Red Devotion and Boros Aggro decks. Surprisingly the worst matchup this deck faces is Boros Combo, a concoction of mine specifically to beat my Esper Variety. Anyway, the only match I lost was in the first round to a Seleysna Deck Splash Red purely for Xenagos. This deck was very difficult to conclude specific plays. As if Esper Control wasn't hard enough to be consistent with. Anyway. Pick a deck and play it. Forever. Time is more valuable than board changes it seems. The best play is often not the most obvious. Regardless, I'm 4 months into MTG and I love it. Seeya at the $50k.
