My first attempt at a Modern deck. My main question - Dark Ritual was reprinted in some Coldsnap theme decks, so does that make it Modern legal?Thanks for looking, and post your thoughts or comments please- they're greatly appreciated.

This deck centers around using Whip of Erebos to reanimate a fatty, attacking, and then using Venser, the Sojourner to exile it. Once at the end step, the triggers for those abilities go on the stack: Venser's first, followed by the Whip's. Whip of Erebos checks for exile, and condition is met. Then Venser, the Sojourner has his trigger check, which checks to see the creature is exiled, then returns it to the battlefield. This combos well with Sharuum the Hegemon, which gets you Magister Sphinx or Whip of Erebos. Also, obviously, the Whip's lifelink effect helps the deck to regain life lost by the first few turns of land-go.

Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur on the field means that I am at a huge card advantage, and I have hand size over seven which gives me fatties to discard. Liliana of the Veil is obvious, allowing me to discard things that belong in the graveyard while cutting my opponent's hand of valuable cards. Obzedat, Ghost Council can dodge the Whip exile by himself, allowing me to do something else with Venser (yay!)

Sheoldred, Whispering One is AWESOME. Reanimate him and have him not only bring back even more creatures every turn, but also wreck your opponent's board state by forcing them to sacrifice creatures.

P.S. - my home format is Standard, and I started playing MTG around M14, so I'm not familiar with a lot of cards outside of Standard right now, so bear that in mind!
