This is a fairly casual EDH deck I'm playing right now. The objective is to ramp up the control as much as possible, draw an unbelievable amount of cards (I've already milled myself out a few times) and have a lot of fun.

-I aim to be the defensive deck in all matchups and the arbiter of all matchups. I am the deck that just sits there behind walls and stops things that I don't like or don't benefit me from happening or remove them after minimal effect. Then when the game is getting boring or I know I can win, I act.

-I am not going to run cards I consider too degenerate or unfun for my playgroup (Solitary Confinement, Necropotence etc).

-I may run Unhinged cards like My First Tome if my playgroup is okay with it.

-I'm going to try to trade for rather than buy cards I want. These will be in my sideboard and I will acquire and add them as I go.

-The mainboard only has cards I own and therefore am ready to play with.

-The sideboard will be cards I am either considering for the deck or am looking to trade for to add in.

-I don't like the hexproof mechanic and try not to use it. I will use shroud though.


Cards that are fantastic in this deck and that I am unlikely to remove:

-Weathered Wayfarer. It ensures I always hit my land drops because there's always someone that can outramp me (unsurprisingly considering my colours).

-Stonehewer Giant. If it survives, I get Argentum Armor and start Vindicating away.

-Jushi Apprentice. A great early draw engine and this deck does sometimes have trouble drawing cards early.


Cards I consider too unfun for my meta or I just don't like. Please try not to suggest these:

-Geist of Saint Traft. I don't like hexproof and his existence offends me even if he isn't that powerful in EDH.

-Iona, Shield of Emeria. God no.

-Rest in Peace. I am not going to include narrow cards to destroy specific strategies.

-Ensnaring Bridge. I don't want to include lockdown in this fairly casual deck.

-Necropotence and Yawgmoth's Bargain. Much as I love them, my meta is not nearly competitive enough and they would be very degenerate.

-Upheaval, Winter Orb, Stasis, Any other mass land destruction/stall.

NOTE: I don't consider cards like Misdirection or Force of Will to be broken and degenerate as many people do. I consider them to be a nice balancer, to have a very relevant drawback and to be very interesting cards.


General changes I am currently considering:

-Moving commander to Zur the Enchanter but not using him in the overused, overcompetitive and boring way lots of people do use him for.

-Adding more instant-speed card draw. As I've increased the control of the deck, I've decreased the card draw which does sadden me.

-Adding more land. I sometimes have some problems at 34 though this is probably because I try to include many cards I like and enjoy playing with.
