So I've been playing with the idea of using Azor's Gateway and Torment of Hailfire in a u/w combination. The only reason why I didn't go full esper was because I just didn't have the right staple cards to run it as well as it could be ( Fatal Push and The Scarab God for example.) However, after some lucky pulls and some trading, I was able to get the necessary pieces to make it a full esper deck!

Now, the deck should still be able to function if by chance I cannot get Azor's Gateway to come online. However, because we are trying to use this particular card for insane synergy, the deck must also have a balanced mana curve while still getting myself options to protect my life points and my artifact. It honestly feels like a Tempo deck that becomes a control deck without having any board presence until later phases of the game.

The most peculiar thing about this deck, is that it can run perfectly with just 7 lands on the field. Often I find myself being flooded with only 24 lands in the deck. I don't know if it's just luck or particular matchups, but I think a lot of testing will have to determine if more lands are needed or if they need to stay the same.

As for what it could use, there are few things that I am considering. Besides The Scarab God and Torment of Hailfire there aren't that many more win conditions. I might be able to get my hands on a Azor, the Lawbringer but I honestly feel like Cataclysmic Gearhulk is a much stronger top deck and it comes out a turn earlier. If I could get a few Torrential Gearhulk I would be running them, but until then I feel like this is strong enough.
