Eternal Scourge the Horror Nightmare

Modern

altron64

This deck makes use of eternal scourge and recursive synergies. Almost everything is hate to be used on yourself for value...or use it on the opponent if they play a graveyard deck to hate them to death.

Serum Powder can exile before the game even starts...allowing you to start the game with a few Eternal Scourges exiled and ready to pounce. It also allows for synergies with Gemstone Caverns, making it so that you can start with free mana if you aren't on play. Sometimes you'll get real lucky and have a few of those on the field before your opponent even plays a land. Turn 1 Eternal Scourge isn't always hard to get in this situation.

Merrow Bonegnawer, Scrapheap Scrounger, and Offalsnout enable Scourge to keep coming back, while Eldrazi Temple makes the Scourge cheap to cast over and over.

Epochrasite is just another recurring creature filler. Comes back as a 4/4 and keeps your curve evened out. Colorless as well...so it can block most creatures with protection from colors. (EDIT). Removed this card...way too slow. Running 4 copies of Spellskite instead...which is also a horror creature and much more valuable to play!

Hunted Horror is a 7/7 trample that gives the opponent 2 3/3 creatures with protection from black...since this deck relies mostly on colorless creatures, you can simply use Eternal Scourge to block the tokens and recur them to undo the downside of a 7/7 trample for 2 mana! Great topper for the deck!

Vile Rebirth and Shamble Back give value for exiling Scourge from the grave while cluttering up the board for your opponent.

Surgical Extraction can tutor all your Eternal Scourges for 1 mana or 2 life...insane combo potential.

Ghost Quarter and name Horror as a creature type, to make the Scourges an unstoppable force...even chalice of the void can't stop you now.

Finally we run 2 copies of Bojuka Bog...if you can't get your Scourges exiled...then just use this land to get them into exile again.

I spent weeks brewing this deck in hopes of breaking Eternal Scourge...while it isn't quite "broken"...it is a very tasty deck with an affordable pricetag in modern format. $361 is the price for this in paper and it has some really interesting matchups...definitely not Tier 1 but very budget friendly with hilarious amounts of synergies.
