This is my Vintage Lich deck, I plan to be playing it in type I 10-15 proxy environment tournaments.
The cards I consider replacing main-deck are as follows:
currently, I run spell pierce instead of mana drain because its friendly on the wallet though I intend to swap out (I find Dredge and Fish are hardest to beat right now so being able to counter threats is important)
1x Library of Leng1x Zuran Orb1x Ponder (with 1x Brainstorm)1x Time Twister (I love the card, other people talk about dislike of it, I've always been a fan espec since its a hand refill after a Eureka if I haven't already won.)
Zuran Orb & Library of Leng feel very optional. I feel like more utility might be worthwhile.
cards I don't run currently I consider that aren't on the list and why:
maindeck -1x Misdirection (ancestral recall is an easy steal or any bounce, burn spells, theres so many options)1x Merchant Scroll (its a nice utility spell, espec if I start running gifts/echoing truth/misdirection)1x Gifts Ungiven (I like the card advantage and its a good way to pull off potential wins)1x Echoing Truth or Into the Roil (my personal favorite is into the roil I like that it can be kicked, but thats just me)
dark Confidant isn't here because I am currently going creature-less, but the card advantage is awful tempting.
SB:2x Skullclamps very tempting against Oath, however Oath isn't my scariest matchup right now and it would be a dead card vs. other matches.1x-2x Damnation - solid card to drop against Dredge after countering their big reanimate for Mr. Hasty, however I feel like its a hard spot to give up room for. Would also rock against Fish.+1x Drop of Honey - its great right now, fantastic vs. stax and fish (though against stax I can usually draw them out, if I drop one of these baddies its very hard for them to get a win condition other than mishra's factory, and if I time walk it hits twice).
other considerations - SB - Tormod's Crypt instead of Bojuka bog (doesn't hit land per turn, but also is counterable. However most decks I want the crypt against (cough dredge) doesn't typically run counterspells. Relic of Progenitus is another consideration for anti-dredge.Gush - I really like it as a draw engine. I doubt I will want to run 4 but its an instant and I can drop multiple lands under a fastbond.Pithing Needle - anti-wasteland card, would b rly nice vs. stax. Also hits many annoying cards and would be variably good against many decks.Sculpting Steel - a nice card for against any deck that tinkers into a big robot, just a nice way to settle things in. Also very flexible since it can target ANY artifact without target mattering (aka shrouded sphinxes clone for me anyway)
would love suggestions, haven't had tournament play in it but all my playtests make me scared of running spell pierce > mana drain because it makes Fish scarier (which isn't an easy match right now anyway)
small change concept - 1x Gifts Ungiven and 1x Merchant Scroll instead of 1x Library of Leng and 1x Zuran Orb
