In a set full of pushed and busted cards like the free-if-you-control-a-commander cycle, I chose for my own pushed and busted mega-beastie Zaxara, the Exemplary. Forget that he goes infinite mana on turn 4 (we'll get to that), but more importantly Wizards took the Hydra tribal proto-type (Gargos, Vicious Watcher) and effectively gave it acid laced with crack, aaand we got Zaxara.

As one might expect, the quickest way to win with this deck is undoubtedly to go infinite on turn 4 with either Pemmin's Aura or Freed from the Real. On the off chance you'd like to play a real game of EDH, which frankly, I usually do (shuffling 99 cards a few times to play a 5 minute game is not gratifying more than once, I don't care what cEDH says), we have several ways to ramp up mana in this deck. Gyre Sage is my favorite because I'm a Ravnica homer, but the classic land ramp tricks work great here, particularly in combination with something like Dictate of Karametra or Zendikar Resurgent. At any rate, we ramp as hard as we can, then start playing a whole lot of big bad X-costed, many-headed, no good, very bad, Hydras. Better yet, we have outfitted with the X counterspells such as Clash of Wills and a few X synergy cards like Unbound Flourishing (which is just stupid here).

Will this very likely be the most expensive deck I put together? By a long shot, friends. Do I find myself recently single and with a sudden glut of unallocated dollhairs? You betcha. Hello Beastie.
