The Great Toad approves of the new offering his Wizard's underlings have brought: Assassin's Trophy.

So, so good. I absolutely can not wait to place this into my deck.

I am also a fan of Secrets of the Mausoleum but I am trying to sort out how that is going to work in Gitrog specifically. I really like that it is instant cast and that CMC is ooh so good but does it add enough punch? Testing will tell...

Have you considered adding Underrealm Lich? I find that he and the Great Toad together allow me to dig extremely deep and draw massive amounts of cards.

Thanks for the suggestion. I haven't tried it yet but let's say it 's definitely on my radar.

True... I hadn't considered her.

Underrealm Lich is insane. With the frog out it's almost an auto-win. Add any discard outlet and you can draw forever.

I suspected as much. My only concern is the 5 CMC

Have you considerated Assassin's Trophy?

Yes, Assassin's Trophy is a great choice for the deck.

Doom Whisperer is a goddamn champion of the world. I’m surprised I didn’t see it in this list. Paying life to draw almost any card you want is pretty amazing. I’d consider it equivalent to Yawgmoth's Bargain for this deck. Playing from experience with it, you gotta give it a try.

Doom Whisperer added to the deck. How's it playing in everyone else's ponds out there?

Awesome. That's kinda what I expected. Freshening things up in here, and realized that I needed to replace Putrefy with Assassin's Trophy .

I may also add in Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre in place of World Breaker , since the deck does tend to combo off, and most opponents expect that that is your game plan.

I still try to maintain this primer as a generalist build, meant to be robust and capable of many different angles of play. I wonder, community, is that a good this or would you like to see a bit more focus on the seemingly inevitable combo win strategy?

Any other thoughts on ways to freshen up the list?

Chains of Mephistopheles is pushing it a bit for this build, but I do agree its good, especially in my cEDH build.

Doom Whisperer is one of the greatest edh cards ever, and is borderline banworthy.

Anyone who thinks otherwise hasn’t abused it enough. It’s disgusting

I gotta say, I absolutely love the deck the way it is. Sure there may be new cards that will pop into the eldritch frog's radar now and again, but after playing this deck many times (using a few different cards, mainly for budgetary and Lovecraftian flavor reasons) I gotta say one of my favorite aspects of it is the "all around" nature of it. It's powerful but balanced. I think the recent additions are natural evolutions for the deck and I tip my hat to you Ender666666 for this awesome deck tech!

Ender666666, this is a spectacular deck! I have pissed off my whole play group with it! I originally built this to compete with a Najeela deck that was dominating our group and wrecking my Tasigur deck but now I seem to have sparked an all out cEDH deck building competition. However it's all good fun, not too many salty dogs in our group. My question is about the Dakmor/Hypnotoad combo. If I have Get-er-done toad and a sack outlet, how many land triggers do I get if I dredge Dakmor and dump x and 2 lands into the bin? Do I get one draw trigger for both lands or 2 draw triggers for 2 lands. Thank you for the knowledge drop!

Great question. Because all the cards on a Dredge hit the graveyard at the same time, and because of the way Gitrog is worded, you only get one trigger. It doesn't matter how many lands hit at once, it's only ever a single draw trigger. Make sense?

Thanks for the comments. Please feel free to write more about your experience with the list.

Yes, makes total sense. It's always about the wording. Ive had a great time learning the deck but have been the target of jokes lately for all the missed triggers, lol. I filled several slots from your "honorable mentions" list and added some of my own spice for budget. I added Underrealm Lich from a commenter's suggestion and its Bonkers! What do you think of Beseech the Queen to go get that Lich? Mostly I've had to downgrade the lands, again due to budget reasons, but tried to add the next best things like Evolving Wilds and Terramorphic Expanse for the 2 missing fetches. I also added a Memorial Folly to get back that discard outlet and a Cavern of Souls to protect Gitrog. Now time to save up for a Bazaar!
