Thanks for the suggestion Nightdragon779. I'm not sure I run enough Forests to make Nissa worthwhile. But I will keep her in mind.

I don't even know or care what this deck does, points for making everything foil and splashing hypnotoad all over the place :)

Honestly though, Commander is a format that I'd like to try but have only played once and used a premade. I'm afraid I won't be any help with your deck, but I've seen the full series of Futurama dozens of times (not exaggerating...) and I just had to drop by and share some kudos.

I do dig the Gitrog Monster though, he just looks like he doesn't give a crap about anything with those dead eyes and that half eaten person hanging out of his mouth. Seems like a risky Commander to use but probably a lot of fun :)

No worries Nightdragon779, I've done the same thing many times before.

Thanks Hobbez9186, I'm glad you like the deck :) Would you mind giving it a +1?

Tested this deck out last night in a 4-Player game. It took an early lead, weathered through a board wipe, and then gained board superiority quickly enough that I was able to combo out for the win.

I'm quite happy with the deck list in its current state.

I am considering adding in a Boseiju, Who Shelters All to ensure that my game-finishing Exsanguinate, or other key Sorceries and Instants are harder to stop, but am not sure if I need it, and WHAT I'd cut in order to add it.

I think adding a description would help a lot of people out. Kind of like a mini primer. That way newer players can get an idea of how to play the deck and what combos they have access to.

The crazy thing is, if you are just looping your deck over and over with infinite dredge and Kozilek, they can counter your Exanguinate all they want, you just recycle your deck and do it again. The only thing you have to worry about then is if they use a counter that exiles.

Good idea Guerte, just need to find time. If you have any ideas of how to write it up, I'm open to suggestions/submissions.

Homer127112 very true... That's why there's also Geth's Verdict for backup.

Ender666666: You can use my Daretti Primer as a baseline for yours. You're more familiar with it so you would have more knowledge of what needs to be in there.

Guerte: True. Can you send me the complete code of your Daretti deck (the Description section), say on FB, that way I can excise your content and add mine, but preserve the structure.

What are your thoughts about Elixir of Immortality? It would be somehow better than Kozilek and is easily fetched if your grave is filling too much, but also doesnt broke your grave as Kozilek may.

Elixir of Immortality is good when you're playing a game of regular Magic. Kozilek, Butcher of Truth is here for the combo win. You need him and his reshuffle triggered ability to combo off with something like The Gitrog Monster + Dakmor Salvage + Skirge Familiar + Exsanguinate or Geth's Verdict. There are other combos too, but to be most effective, they need you to reshuffle your graveyard into your deck repeatedly when you go off, and it's better for that reshuffle to be triggered, than from something that has to be recast repeatedly.

+1 - building my own at the moment so like that you've put effort into explaining your land Base - look forward to your explanation of combos and other choices :)

I really like the deck Ender666666, +1 from me. If you want some help on your primer I just finished my EDH Stax Primer on my Glissa, the Traitor deck, feel free to check it out.

What is your opinion of Seedborn Muse and Winding Canyons?

May 11, 2016 1:35 p.m.

Ender666666 says... #19

Thanks. Yeah, I have hit a little bit of writer's block in fleshing out the primer. I'll finish it soon, I hope.

As far as Seedborn Muse and Winding Canyons go, they are both great cards, and I might consider adding them at some point. I'm just not sure if the deck really needs them, and I'm not sure what I'd cut to make room. Any suggestions?

May 11, 2016 2:17 p.m.

For Winding Canyons I'd cut a basic or Command Tower and depending on how much value you get out of Skirge Familiar, the muse might be able to ramp more. I do see how it is used to cycle lands but I like the Seedborn Muse because it counters Winter Orb, Static Orb, Tangle Wire, etc.

Skirge Familiar is key to one of the combos. It generates infinite mana with Gitrog in play when you pitch Dakmor Salvage

May 11, 2016 3:21 p.m.

Oh ok, I didn't see the combo with Dakmor Salvage at first. The only card that sticks out to me as a possible cut is Geth's Verdict. I would remove it for Innocent Blood if you still want sacrifice removal or Seedborn Muse.

Ender666666 says... #23

I guess I really need that primer after all... Geth's Verdict and Exsanguinate are the two spells you use the infinite mana for to win. Essentially, you dredge Dakmor Salvage back into your hand, and draw off of any incidental lands that hit the graveyard when dredging. Kozilek, Butcher of Truth will reshuffle your graveyard into your library. You go until you draw one or both of those black spells, then drain away for the kill. With Geth's Verdict, you'd loop a ton of times until you cast and redraw it enough times to kill everyone. Best part is that if someone counters you, you just do it again until they run out of answers, and you win.

May 11, 2016 4:44 p.m.

Oh my god I see it now, thanks for explaining that all to me. I'm so conditioned to combos like High Tide, artifacts, or Phyrexian Altar shenanigans that I never thought that out. That is actually a incredibly sick combo. I always run Exsanguinate and go infinite off it sometimes but I've never seen it used like that. I wish I could +1 again haha.

Yeah a primer would be nice, or at least making a combo list. I have a few combo decks so I'm used to slapping bullet points on. It looks like you have a few in here so it would be helpful.

My primer isn't like a lot of others on the site as I made it sort of like a card database and deckbuilding guide, but Its more a primer on playing the entire strategy of stax as apposed to building around someone as glorious as hypnotoad.

Huge Futurama fan. Huge Gitrog fan.

+1 From me and in my favorites folder. :)
