Started off as a bad Oona deck, now it's almost completely transformed into a bad Thraximundar deck, woo!
One day it won't suck. Probably.
The current plan is to sac all my creatures and all my enemy's creatures and then swing for the win with Thraximundar, with a side of reanimation for the win.
Sac outlets:
Archfiend of Depravity - There's a couple of token decks in my meta. This should make them cry a little bit inside, or at least make Thrax grow huge easily.
Fleshbag Marauder - Cheap +4/+4 to Thrax since my games are usually 4 people or more.
Grimgrin, Corpse-Born - A secondary voltron-style guy. Shouldn't be too hard to make him huge and swing for the win.
It That Betrays - I guess he could technically voltron, although he's there for Annihilator and stealing the creatures that I force enemies to sac.
Mogis, God of Slaughter - More likely to burn than to sac, but puts a bit of pressure on the opponents.
Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker - Never gonna happen. Till then, he merely destroys and steals shit which I have no problem with.
Smokestack - This should be fun, although I'll have to be careful not to be greedy.
Goblin Bombardment - With Rooftop Storm, Gravecrawler, another zombie out, boom everyone's dead by infinite combo. Not something I'm necessarily aiming for, but without Rooftop Storm the number of creatures I can sac a turn should be nice anyway.
Choice of Damnations - I think this should be fun for making Thrax big!
Death Cloud - Finishing move, I guess. Better make sure I'm on top after this resolves, but definitely a candidate for removal.
Victimize: Imagine - Buried Alive into Bloodghast, It That Betrays and Thassa, God of the Sea, then Victimize the Bloodghast once it returns to the battlefield, with the perfect hand (including a Sol Ring and both blue and black mana) you could be swinging with an unblockable It That Betrays by turn 4.
Attrition - repeatable non-black spot removal seems good.
Trading Post - I know this is a good card, I'm just not 100% on it being perfect for this deck. I just don't have any artifacts dying without input from either this, or other people.
Pawn of Ulamog and Rapacious One - These seem good - amazing, even.
Call to the Grave - If I'm reading this right, this should stay on the battlefield if I have Thrax out, but I wouldn't have to sac him.
Recurring Creatures:
Bloodghast - Expensive, but if I can find him...
Bloodsoaked Champion - Seems just fine, I should be able to bring him back multiple times a turn as well as long as I attacked with someone that turn.
Gravecrawler - The classic?
Nim Devourer - Might actually do some damage when Thrax isn't around since I could just as easily attach some of the voltron stuff to him, plus he's a sac outlet (in a sense) and a recurring creature.
Reanimation:
Rise of the Dark Realms - Delicious. Absolutely delicious, especially after a boardwipe.
Sepulchral Primordial - In the right circumstances, awesome.
Geth, Lord of the Vault - This guy attracts a lot of hate, but could be awesome. Definitely a target for swiftfoot boots etc. if I have a spare.
Grave Betrayal - I haven't seen this do well in previous incarnations of this deck, but this time round I've added so many ways of causing other people to lose creatures...
Fated Return - Making the right creature indestructible, like the one below:
Havengul Lich - Want to fit this guy in somewhere, even though he's another hate-generating creature.
Stuff that uses dying creatures:
Falkenrath Noble - This or Blood Artist (or both if I can find something to cut) will just be nice and fun.
Grim Haruspex - Card draw. Not 100% on whether he's necessary though...
Rockslide Elemental - Another card that could get big in the right circumstances.
Grave Pact and Dictate of Erebos - No creatures for you, ahahahahaha! Only fit one in so far.
Token Generators:
Goblin Assault: One a turn? Sure, why not.
Kher Keep and Trading Post - In a pinch, these'll do.
Rite of Replications - Probably not for sacrificial purposes, but with the right exit the battlefield effect...
Pawn of Ulamog and Rapacious One - Repeatedly generating tokens that are their own sac outlets? Yes please! Still need to fit Rapacious One in somewhere.
Voltron-ness for Thrax:
Darksteel Plate - Protection from a lot of board wipe.
Dragon Shadow - Play for free everytime Thrax returns to the battlefield? Sounds fine to me.
Rime Transfusion - One of my friends gets annoyed at me merely playing what snow lands I have in my collection. I told him I was planning on putting this in, and laughed.
Trailblazer's Boots - Basically unblockable, in Commander.
Whispersilk Cloak, Swiftfoot Boots, Lightning Greaves - Hexproof is obvious. Whispersilk has the added benefit of unblockable, but since I have multiple large creatures I would want to keep safe, all three seem reasonable.
Thassa, God of the Sea: Unblockable in a pinch, with a bit of card advantage too.
Opal Palace - Doesn't combo so well with Rooftop Storm, but depending on Thrax's current cost it might be worth playing him with this. Color filter in a worst case scenario.
Burn:
Keranos, God of Storms and Purphoros, God of the Forge: With the number of times something should be entering the battlefield, Purphoros should do plenty, while Keranos will always do a little burn and a lot of card advantage each turn.
Death Cloud - It's mostly for the sacrifice effect but hey, it burns players!
Card Advantage:
Ponder, [[Preordain]. Beseech the Queen, Buried Alive, Sign in Blood, Read the Bones, Staff of Nin, Phyrexian Arena, Keranos, God of Storms, Thassa, God of the Sea, Grim Haruspex, Fact or Fiction, Solemn Simulacrum, Journeyer's Kite, Jace, Memory Adept...
Utility:
Rooftop Storm - Free commander? Yes please!
Praetor's Grasp: Apparently this can no longer be used to permanently exile commanders :( Still something I'd be interested in trying, since I'm usually playing with one or two other decks with matching colors.
Crosis's Charm and Cyclonic Rift - My only removal beyond Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker. Feel like this is the deck's real weak spot. Attrition is repeatable, but there's only one of those out there.
Counterspell, Forbid - Not sure I'm the best control player so these might get cut entirely in favour of spot removal - I realise these are better, I'm just bad at working out what needs countering.
Boardwipe:
Cyclonic Rift, Damnation
To a lesser extent, Cloud of death and Choice of Damnations. Considering putting in Blasphemous Act and Decree of Pain too.
Lands:
Mostly self-explanatory, but probably going to drop the refuge lands for Snow-Covered lands.
