This deck's sole purpose is that all of its creatures explode in glorious brilliance! With the exceptions of Furnace Scamp and Myr Retriever, all of them explode for bonus damage when they die. Magma Phoenix is mean for that last minute damage, field-whipping tokens, and for kicking off all of your exploding creatures for a finishing blow. The fact that this card can be recalled from the graveyard is even better in those dire late game situations. The major advantage in the early game is that your creatures can kill other creatures, with Furnace Scamp taking the lead on the first few turns, or taking a 4DMG advantage during moments when the opponent has no creatures.

Culling Dais and Jinxed Idol is where this deck shines. Culling Dais can let you sacrifice your exploders intentionally, for when something must be destroyed. Plus, it allows you to sacrifice it for more cards later, keeping you from running out of that delicious burn-spell hand. Jinxed Idol is great because it allows you to sacrifice your exploders for damage and give your opponent a card that chips away at their life slowly. This leads them to sacrifice their creatures to keep this debuff on you. Myr Retriever is even better for this reason. Have two Retrievers, one in the graveyard and one on the field, at all times. Then when one dies, have it cycle the one in your graveyard back to your hand and recast it on your next turn. This allows for a one turn boost to your Culling Dias during your opponent's end step or a great way to aggravate your opponent with Jinxed Idol.

To explain the burn, Lightning Bolt is a must in Red casual play. Searing Blaze is ideal as well. While it is best used in the early game to erase creatures, it is great in the late game to do that last minute damage, especially if you draw it and a land with Culling Dias. Punishing Fire is mainly a personal touch. There are better burn spells out there; but I like to keep the heat on those life-gain decks, as they are the major struggling point for this deck. Finally, Burn from Within was another personal choice. I wanted something to kill those indestructible monsters that my burn would normally be pointless against.

In short, keep your opponents from having creatures. The fewer they have, the better your late game will be.
