Commander / EDH

Herald13

We are Perfection. We are Progress. We are the Beginning. We are the End. We are Phyrexia.

This deck was really just an idea I had when I first saw the new commanders with experience counters. It then turned into this when I found out how much synergy Ezuri, Claw of Progress had with so many creatures and spells. But first, thank you for looking at the deck in the first place, I very much appreciate it. And without further ado, here's the deck.

enter image description here

Since Ezuri is heavily dependent on how many creatures you can get out in order to trigger his ability, were going to want to be able to play as many](http://www.artofmtg.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/Mana-Confluence-Art.jpg "enter image title here") as we can, as quickly as possible.

For this, we have Harrow, Growth Spasm, Kodama's Reach, and Rampant Growth. These will all actively give us lands, and Growth Spasm will even give us the added bonus of a token, further increasing Ezuris counters.

enter image description here

There are also other ways to rack up Ezuris counters besides casting a bunch of creatures. Tokens are a great way to do this. Especially when you can get multiple at a time. And thats where the Eldrazi come in. Eldrazi Skyspawner is a great example of this. Since it has a power of 2, it creates an experience counter, and when it creates a Scion token, that then creates another experience counter as it has a power of 1, and it can be sacrificed as a source of mana.

Other creatures that can do this are: Blisterpod, Eyeless Watcher, Incubator Drone, Kozilek's Predator, and Nest Invader.

Ezuri is incredibly good at making small creatures massive. He can turn a 1/1 into an 8/8 in one combat, and can create tons of pressure on your opponents. This is the main way that this deck is going to be winning, making a bunch of creatures really big, and then attacking until your opponent has no life left. This can be done through buffing the flyers we have in the deck, like Eldrazi Skyspawner or Patagia Viper. Pentavite tokens are also another thing to get damage across with.

So, as I thought that a full aggro deck wouldnt be able to have a high enough chance of winning, I decided to add in some other ways of getting to a GG.

This way is kind of dumb, but it is very satisfying: the infamous "Every Turn is My Turn" combo. This is just having Ezuri with at least five experience counters on him, plus a Sage of Hours. Essentially, you can enter combat and put five +1/+1 counters onto the Sage with Ezuris ability. You then end combat without attacking and use the Sages ability to remove all five counters and take an extra turn. You then repeat until you can win through another mean, such as having enough tokens to attack and win.

This is the backbone of the deck. These combos can be devastating to your opponents, resulting in either a massive field advantage, or a win.

Ezuri, Claw of Progress + Chasm Skulker + Miren, the Moaning WellThis is one of the more aggro combos. First, buffing Chasm Skulker will be really easy, considering how he get stronger every time you draw a card. Then, if you can then also buff him with Ezuri, hell get really big, really fast. And finally, if you can then sacrifice him to Miren, youll be able to gain a massive amount of life, get a stupid amount of tokens (with islandwalk), and Ezuris counters will go up even more.

Ezuri, Claw of Progress + Deadeye Navigator + Eyeless WatcherThis combo makes use of the Navigators blinking effect. If you can pair him with an Eyeless Watcher, or another creature that can make tokens when it enters the battlefield, you can effectively pay and get three counters on Ezuri, and two extra colorless mana.

Ezuri, Claw of Progress + MycolothEssentially, you need to have Mycoloth devour two creatures or so (which can also be effective if you have something like a buffed Chasm Skulker on board), and then keep buffing him with Ezuri. Then, as your upkeeps keep on coming, youll be getting more and more tokens, further increasing Ezuris counters.

Ezuri, Claw of Progress + Sage of HoursI really dont have to say anything about this one.

Ezuri, Claw of Progress + Wild BeastmasterThis one lets you buff the hell out of any massive group of tokens you may have. In addition to this being very helpful in general, it can be game-winning if you happen to have a massive token outlet such as Mycoloth.

Now, there are many more combos, but listing all of them would be way too much work for me. SoI leave you we these.

All feedback is both welcome and appreciated! And again, thank you for looking at the deck!
