UPDATE: Take a look at Stats from 26 matches on magic online
After playing with the core combo of Path of Discovery and Animation Module, I think I've found a powerful combo deck that also has good beatdown component. You should make a decision as soon as you know what your opponent is playing--do you need to combo, or do you need to beat down fast? In many matchups, you're happy to sit back and create a board stall, digging for additional combo pieces.
The fullest extension of the combo is Animation Module, Path of Discovery, Wildgrowth Walker for heals, Rishkar, Peema Renegade for tons of mana. When this combo is assembled, you crank out 2/2 tokens for 1 mana and heal for 3 and grow Wildgrowth Walker for each token.
Example combo opener: 1. Animation Module==> 2. Servant of the Conduit ==> 3. Path of Discovery==> 4. Wildgrowth Walker, make 3 tokens on turn 4 (healing you for 9, making Wildgrowth Walker a 5/7)==> 5. Rishkar, Peema Renegade, combo out (you can make 7 tokens with the 10 mana available).
Important tip: don't treat Wildgrowth Walker like a 2 drop creature. It's a combo piece, and you should almost never drop him on the board without exploring multiple times the same turn. He's not much of an early game beater. Play around removal if at all possible. Be willing to take a ton of damage to avoid losing Wildgrowth Walker--keep the combo dream alive.
Unbridled Growth is just a cycler. It helps you dig, but avoid cracking it as long as reasonable. You may explore, seek your Animation Module on top, and need it this turn. Then you crack the Unbridled Growth, draw, and combo off.
Sideboard tech:
Skysovereign, Consul Flagship provides some much needed removal and over-the-top beater for board stall matchups.
Crushing Canopy answers some of the decks worst matchups, Glorybringer and kindling phoenix. Crushing Canopy and the extra Thrashing Brontodon are also good where your opponent can exile your non-creature combo pieces--e.g., Cast Out.Deathgorge Scavenger and Crook of Condemnation give us some heals to survive aggro matchups, and helps hate out graveyard decks like God-Pharaoh's Gift and The Scarab God.
