Path is great, but in all honesty - I feel would over-saturate and push the splash. It probably could work, though. Even more so as a 1 of. I will test it out, see how I feel about, make a decision, from there. Path to Exile is good. It would be replacing the prior Murderous Cut. I have also thought about the following;

Murderous Cut, but hinders Delirium.

Path to Exile, but gives land to the opponent and an extra .

Executioner's Capsule, this caters to Delirium, Tarmogoyf, and can just sit there until needed.

Go for the Throat, decent, but 2 mana, and sucks against the current Affinity meta.

I feel like Lumbering Falls would probably be a little better than Creeping Tar Pit just so it doesn't randomly get Fatal Pushed and you don't get stone rained for 1. Tar pit is pretty good for pushing through damage on a stalled board, but most of the time your man lands are for use against control or in really grindy matches anyway I think.

The problem with Lumbering Falls is its mana cost to activate. Sure, it can't be targeted by Fatal Push nor Stone Rained for one, but mana cost itself leaves their deck in vulnerabilities after play because you are all tappedout. With Tar Pit, it plays a role of rather or not it is use for mana, or simply beating down with the Lingering Souls tokens. And that unblockable perk forces your opponent to respond in dire situations. In essence, I see why you would play Falls over Pit, but in a deck like this, the unblockable perk is more relevant than hexproof.

Hey!

Great idea! I loved the white splash. Keep this up!

Maybe even more Lingering Souls. This card is such a powerhouse.

Thanks, for the input. I have had that card suggested, by a friend, but ultimately did not make the cut. It is too slow in Modern and mana efficiency is what matters. Hexproof really doesn't matter ~ Examine Boggles and it's position in the Meta. Tar-Pit just does too well in this shell and when an opposing Death's Shadow or Reality Smasher are staring me down, the Tar-Pit steals the game away. Some people scoop, off of the animation and I have 4 + cards in hand, plus a better board state. Thanks for the advice and I know you like to prove your point, by utilizing reliable information and your experience, but unfortunately the Falls does not fit here. Please, by all means, create this on Cockatrice & enjoy the Lumbering Falls. For me, it is too slow and the takes precedents over the .

Miracles-and-Charms-of-Alara:

+1, on that comment and I second that.

ej133:

Thank you, friend. I have been loving the splash, as well. The Lingering Souls is definitely pulling it's weight and making Thought Scour just that much better. I have too, considered the possibility of a 3x Lingering Souls and going down 1x Siege Rhino ~ both are immaculate, at sealing the deal in games. This deck needed a life cushion and a pseudo Lightning Bolt. It also needed time..."spirit tokens" ~ also another win condition and extra card draw off of Grim Flayer & Thought Scour.

Once again i love this deck =) If your interested in the putting a one of Path to Exile, my idea was to -2 Darkslick Shores and +1 Misty Rainforest, +1 Path to Exile. The Misty Rainforest can get your 2 white sources without hurting your mana base at all.

Hey man, Nice deck! I've tried the white splash sultai decks before but they never seemed to take off, I'm glad you were able to make something of it, keep it up! What do you think of Rhonas the Indomitable to take Courser of Kruphix's place? Sure it won't help with mana fixing, but it helps activate stubborn denial without removing cards to activate himself, and it's the same cmc for a 5/5 deathtouch indestructible who can give your goyfs trample.

I must disagree with you skoobysnackz Courser of Kruphix helps you know when to cycle the top card which really helps with Thought Scour and if you should fetch before you crack your Mishra's Bauble. Also it gains life back after you go down to 15 turn 2. Im just trying to say that it does more than just mana fix.

cplvela0811 I think you should mention that Mishra's Bauble also activates Fatal Push in your description, i think that is relevant.

Well I suppose that is a good point skeletonkey8, I had not thought of that.

skeletonkey8:

Excellent observations. I mostly included it, for the "extra" card type. The interactions, of course, as you pointed out, are extremely relevant.

skoobysnackz:

I like Rhonas. Right now Rhonas, Courser, and Rhino are competing for the slot. Thank you very much, for the advice, friend.

So i just wanted to say that i personally have very much enjoyed this iteration of this deck. Everything felt like it has come together smoothly to accomplish this super out value your opponent play style that i love. Im sure you will change everything again as you see fit and i will always keep an eye on this deck and your progress with it but as for the time being this version is save on my computer as my favorite deck to play. Thank you.

skeletonkey8, skoobysnackz:

First and foremost, thank you, for your continued support. Your observations and reports have been paramount in getting us here. There has been almost 100 revisions along the way, to get where it needed to be. The sligh implementation of has just catered to the shell, so well.

The ability to pitch cards like Siege Rhino & Lingering Souls, and still have interaction with them throughout the game is essential to winning. Liliana, the Last Hope, acts as a Kolaghan's Command, and Siege Rhino, as Lightning Helix.

I do not see this shell changing too much. However, I have been considering a card or two, from Hour of Devastation.

Once again, thank you all, for the continuous support. My Gauntlet hates this deck in a respectful way. They eye-balled me, at first - being 4 Colors and all, however, I am beating Ad Nauseam, Affinity, Death's Shadow (gave up on thier Infect deck), Burn, Jund, and Storm Combo. One of our players took my idea of introducing EldraziTron into the mix. It is the most difficult of them all. It may not be a GP, but boy do we cast some spells. My friends say "This does what Jund does, but better."

Something to maybe test is a Hallowed Fountain for the Godless Shrine. I find that when im looking for white with Polluted Delta i already have black/green mana down and i want to fill out my mana base early or if i start with 2 Polluted Delta. Just something i have been thinking of trying? Let me know if the extra rhino feels better than the courser because im still in love with courser

skeletonkey8 says... #17

Nvm the extra Lightning Helix with shoes won me a couple games today i have made the switch =p though i did make the Hallowed Fountain change and changed 2 Polluted Delta for 2 Misty Rainforest because the latter grabs everything except our single swamp and smoothes the curve nicely. Just wanted to post because of my hurrah. I clocked a win against gixis shadow, burn, and mono blue Tron, losing only to another burn player.

skeletonkey8:

Very nice, friend! The Rhino brings it back and teh synergy with Liliana, the Last Hope, makes for a powerful "2 piecer." It almost gives me the feelin in Standard - with Whip of Erebos.

I considered the Hallowed Fountain. However the has become a tad less prevalent. I will test it out, today. Regarding the fetches - both Polluted Delta & Verdant Catacombs, may both search for the single swamp, but more importantly, the Godless Shrine. I see exactly what you are saying, though, and it sounds good, for our longer fights. I will take note of that.

I am very pleased with your results and the fun you are having, along with winning. Keep me updated. I test with the Gauntlet, today.

I have to tag it!
