You guys realize he is calling it Atraxa just as a description of its colors, right? He couldn't actually add Atraxa since she isn't modern legal. She was released in a commander set.

Rather than Ratchet Bomb in your Sideboard I would run Engineered Explosives.

Hello. I like both Engineered Explosives & Ratchet Bomb.

Unfortunately, no. I have not played in Canada, but I do live in California!

I totally just read your comment from July. Pardon me on my extremely late response time!

Regarding your question pertaining to Bontu's Last Reckoning and its efficiency - It is good. It allows you to destroy the "all out" decks before they close out the game on Turn 4. Aggressive players tend to commit to the board. They always expect Damnation - on Turn 4 - when Magic usually ends or is decided. The draw back of lands not being able to untap is almost the equivalent of using Slaughter Pact in the beginning stages of the game. It is superb against Affinity, Aggro Tron, Taxes. They OVER commit with Aether Vial.

I would hope that this answered your question AND once again, pardon the suspend - 1 month.

You know i have not commented on this deck in a while, just wanted to say this is still my favorite deck in modern to play, it feels like the most authentic "fun police" deck out there, not to mention my love for playing 4 colors and it working so smoothly (well except when i kill myself for colors haha). Thank you for getting back to me about the Bontu's Last Reckoning, i have finally had a chance to use it and i think it works great here with Tasigur, the Golden Fang being a potential 1 drop the proceeding turn (which is what i did... Immediate rage quite on the other side). The only thing i think you need to change though is you need to switch a Overgrown Tomb for a Temple Garden just to flush out your colors for when you fetch. But hey maybe that's just a me thing, do what you think feels best. What do you think of the Hallowed Fountain for an Island? Im still rocking the extra basic right now.

Yeah just realized that this deck still exists LOL. Keep up the good work! Even though I play UWx this deck is still a work of art IMO

The Prismatic Omens in the side for Blood Moon?

I see no reason why four siezes are ever better than at the very least a two-two split between it and IoK, especially in a control deck with such a painful mana base.

Bovine073: It is for Tron and Big Mana decks - because those are where these colors get shit on. I could agree that Inquisition of Kozilek would be a great inclusion. If anything, I would probably do a 3 & 3 split; 3x Thoughtseize, 3x Inquisition of Kozilek. I do run 3x Collective Brutality and 3x Snapcaster Mage, so that helps much with the life loss. The deck filters itself pretty decently. I would hope I answered your questions and provided an answer that is useful.

A few questions just since I don't quite understand some card choices!

I love Tireless Tracker, it is a great magic card but with only running 20 lands, do you get that much value from it? Why run tracker over Grim Flayer or Jace, Vryn's Prodigy  Flip?

Secondly, I think it's cute and mean no offense when I say this but what is Hornet Nest doing in the sideboard? I don't have an issue with it I promise, but that took me by surprise!!

Lastly, a few really fun sideboard cards to list off.

-Flight Spellbomb. What's scarier than a 5/6 Goyfling??? A 6/7 FLYING Goyfling that DRAWS A CARD!

-Simic Charm is s ton of fun. Definitely gonna get some great reactions along with some strong synergy with snappies and protecting your few threats.

Hope this helps!

So I took some advice and moved the deck to something I have been enjoying lately. My motivation comes from legacy - with Modern in mind.

Squirrelbacon:Hey, no problem. Nest was for creature match ups. It would block and then provide additional "removal" blockers. Tireless Tracker was and still is awesome and worked quite well for what the mana bases was. In all honesty - the fetch lands saved it. It has yet to let me down, but things are slow, slow, quick, quick in Modern. As for the suggested cards - I like Charm. It also had some decent interactions going for it.

Is Serum Visions not strictly better than Opt for Delver of Secrets  Flip decks based on the fact that you can set-up the flip and smooth out draws regardless of the sorcery vs instant argument?

I like this! What convinced you to make the transition from Midrange to Delver?

tlhunter07:

Hi. Thank you. The speed & consistency in all honesty. Plus Delver of Secrets  Flip (if played correctly 27+ spells) is generally always more than a 1-for-1. If they remove it, I keep Tarmogoyf and if they do not, it is a Lightning Bolt each turn. I also feel it goes over DS decks (flying). It combats Lingering Souls. I do not need to wait until my life is low, because I can play it on T1. I like it. It also plays well with all of the draw.

ToolmasterOfBrainerd:

Thanks brotha. I removed the 1x of Deprive. I look at Delver as a Spirit killer, but with time of course. The flying is why I commented as such, but you do state valid points.

I like Serum Visions. For me, I feel sorcery speed is a little slow. I could warrant some testing.

DiscardDecard:

You bring up valid points friend. I simply wanted to keep the deck at a majority of "Instant" speed to keep the speed up. Perhaps you both are correct.

December 31, 2017 8:33 p.m.

Instant speed is indeed important, but serum visions nearly guarantees flipping delver of secrets, and that level of consistency can take the deck from stealing fnm wins to being a more serious contender. But this is just my guessing. If serum visions doesn't play well in testing and the current version is already consistent, then keep it as-is.
