Ahh nevermind, only 1 forest. If you ever upscale the forest mana for more basics, that could be something you look into.

Yep... that looks stupid. The use of new cards is great. Do you think Last hope Lili is pulling her weight?

Unbridled Growth hits the grave yard. Utopia does not, unfortunately. It acts as a "draw spell", but ultimately makes for a pseudI +1/+1 anthem.
I haven't had a chance to test with the new cards, but those 2 seem very promising. Liliana has held her weight. There's a lot of Affinity and Infect and she shines there.

I want to foil the deck. I am in the process of doing that! Thank you though my friend.

To make a long story short, I have come back to play magic after taking a short leave of absence and I'm currently rebuilding my modern deck. When I stumbled upon your deck, I was very pleased to have seen that it practically mirrored my own BUG mid-range "Why So Delirious?", (albeit, it does have the addition with the newer cards from the recent sets, and runs certain other cards that I have chose not to run). After seeing this, I decided to pretty much adjust my deck to accordingly to the changes that I have missed. I do have to say this though, why no Bitterblossom? that card is so deadly in this deck. Yes, I too was told that blossom may be a great threat to drop on the board, but both our decks operate better with cards in the grave and so blossom was probably not a good choice, but I digress, When you drop blossom on turn 2, it puts in the work.
Wrapping this up, I just wanted to say that I'm absolutely happy that I wasn't alone in building the this deck, and after seeing your list, I was so inspired to revamp it that I immediately made my adjustments accordingly to my playstyle. Unbridled Growth is such a great card to defend against blood moon, Im just torn between the two just cuz blossom and growth both fight for that enchantment spot. Play testing has been both interesting and fun

@biorose671 I personally think it depends on how tempo heavy your deck is. Bitterblossom is good in deck that can out tempo opponents and keep them off balance long enough to just kill them with goyf, flayer, and faerie tokens. But the more midrange and control-y you make the deck, the worse blossom becomes as over the course of a 13 turn game, blossom can start to really wear on you. That's my 2 cents from playing a similar list, and also trying to cram my bitterblossoms into any deck I can. cplvela0811 might have a different opinion though.

First & foremost, thank you. I am very flattered. I really like your shell and it seems pretty pressure-heavy. In regards to Bitterblossom; TheDuggernaught hit the ball right on the T. Over the course of a long game--Blossom starts to hurt, too much. I did initially try and use it, since it was two card types. Thank you, for giving Unbridled Growth a chance! It so works against Blood Moon and fixes mana well. The best way for me to explain it in this deck is like this, when compared to Serum Visions:
Serum Visions: Draw 1 card. Scry 2. May be used with Snapcaster Mage.
V.S.
Unbridled Growth: Draw 1 card. Combats Blood Moon. Activates Delirium. Acts as a pseudo +1/+1, for Tarmogoyf. May be used as a "combat trick." Mana fixes.
Right on the ball, my friend. I had given some advice as requested, but I am not sure if you were able to review what I had left on your variant.
Hopefully I was able to sum up any questions or confusion!

I did read your advice. I just have not gotten around to changes. I have been going to my current shop for about 3 months, and have been bringing a different deck each time. As such, I have been focused on all the different decks I have brought. But with the new shiny toys Amonkhet is bringing us (looks like we both pegged the same cards for this style of deck being Nissa, Steward of Elements, and Rhonas the Indomitable), I will be doing some revisions once the cards come. I am still a bit hesitant on Thought Scour, and I am not sure that Tasigur, the Golden Fang hurts delerium that much as he can also fill your graveyard back up -- but you obviously have much more experience with the deck than I do.
That aside, I do have a few questions. I have never liked running Liliana of the Veil with counterspells or cards with flash. Granted, you are only running 2 Stubborn Denials, and 3 Snapcaster Mage with 2 Liliana of the Veil. Do you bump into situations often where you top deck a Stubborn Denial with a Liliana of the Veil in play? It would kind of feel bad not being able to hold up that denial on your opponent's turn.
Also, what would be your opinion on Grisly Salvage vs Thought Scour. It is not a turn 1 play, obviously. But being able to dig deeper and pick a threat is not bad for costing an extra mana. Then again, adding another 2 drop to the already crowded slot might also feel bad. But between salvage and Traverse the Ulvenwald, being able to dig/tutor for Rhonas the Indomitable, or a Tarmogoyf to turn on Rhonas the Indomitable might be a solid play.
And last but not least, why cut the Garruk Wildspeaker for Nissa, Steward of Elements. I think I agree with you on the switch as they both do fairly similar things in establishing some great tempo and eventually winning with the ultimate. Just want to hear your reasoning for it. Thanks!

As a 1x of Tasigur, the Golden Fang, you should be fine. I honestly considered adding a 1x of. However, I opted out. I would still run him in a moments notice. Thought Scour, for me, has always been fair to me. Whenever I play a based graveyard shell--I include it. I moved it down to a 2x of. I enjoy it because it can trips, all while adding to the plan. Grisly Salvage is a card that I had looked at when the deck was first in it's infancy. It is decent, but as you stated; being able to drop a 2 mana threat, just works better, for 2 cmc. It is not a bad card, by any means. If anything, perhaps a 1x of? I am just sold on Scour!
Moving onto Liliana of the Veil. She is alright. I am honestly starting to not care much, for her in general, but she stays because she is an enabler. A lot of people will say that she does not "work" with counter magic or "draw" style decks, unless you run Dark Confidant, but in theory-- has more card draw then Confidant ever had, so there really is not much of an issue. Sure, under normal circumstances there may be small problems, but in a deck that needs card types in the graveyard to make better threats, or use Snapcaster Mage, makes for better synergy. With the 2x of Stubborn Denial--they work great! I almost wanted to shoot up to 3x! They are 1 mana Negates--especially with our creature package. I definitely agree with your analysis of Traverse the Ulvenwald, and Rhonas the Indomitable. I am just waiting for that card to be printed. I pre ordered 4x Foil Cryptic Serpents in case they sky rocket. I think it is a cross between Bedlam Reveler & Gurmag Angler, but better > no discard, or removing the grave!
Garruk Wildspeaker is still a good card and I have considered moving to 5x planeswalkers in the mainboard. I thought about taking out 1x of Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet, for a 1x of garruk. I think the new Nissa will be what we need. It plays additional lands, casts creatures, and can be a late game top deck--that swings for 10 damage--on top of your Tarmogoyfs.
Oh, I will! That is the goal. Until then I have to settle for mix & match.

What's your plan on Game 1 vs Tron seeing as you run 0 GQ...
May 6, 2017 10:41 a.m.
cplvela0811 says... #20
Tis the wrong question, sir--it just gets significantly more difficult. However, not impossible. I am a realist and will not sugar coat this: Tron is always an uphill battle, regardless of any prep x takes to combat it. Jund just dies, but the is better than in this current format, so things like Stubborn Denial with Snapcaster Mage work better than Bob and Bolt ever do against it.
Ghost Quarter is phenomenal and was in the sideboard, paired with Surgical Extraction, but I have been lucky and people have shifted back to aggro and decks that are not Modern's boogie man.
Game 2 though, I always want Ceremonious Rejection to counter a Ugin, the Spirit Dragon, into Snapcaster Mage + Ceremonious Rejection a Wurmcoil Engine. That is raw and I wet myself doing so at Grand Prix San Jose against Tron.
Hopefully this answered your questions, Rose.

Thoughts behind the changes you made? Taking out Unbridled Growth seems like a big change to me. But no Liliana of the Veil? Adding Kiora, Master of the Depths back in? And Tasigur, the Golden Fang? I think you also took out the Thoughtseize? Not liking the targeted discard as much?
