As I was searching for artifacts the other day, I came across Bosh, Iron Golem. His ability seemed too good to pass up, but unfortunately Bosh is very expensive to cast, and his ability is fairly inefficient. I wondered and wondered to myself how to make Bosh good, and then I cam across Daretti, Scrap Savant. The fact that he had both a discard ability and a return artifact to the battlefield ability made my brain instantly click. This was it! I just need to get high CMC artifacts in the graveyard and bring them back with Daretti, sacrifice to Bosh, rinse and repeat. After some testing, I found this method to be... too slow.
Then i discovered Scrap Mastery. This was the thing I needed! By using red draw/discard effects, I could fill my graveyard with the high CMC tempo artifacts which contain enter the battlefield effects such as Myr Battlesphere and Meteor Golem. Turn 5 Scrap Mastery could bring them back all at once and I could make my decisions from there. Of course, The user needs to survive til turn five at best. To do this, we add creature kill that also helps discard our cards such as Nahiri's Wrath, Lightning Axe, and Firestorm.
One of my favorite play test scenarios was after using a turn 4 Lightning Axe and various discard effects during the previous turns, I was able to turn-5 Bosh, Iron Golem 3 Meteor Golems and a Combustible Gearhulk using Scrap Mastery. I need to say, seeing all that power appear on the board all at once, three opponent's permanents dying, and whichever effect from Gearhulk creates a huge rush of endorphins as the tide of the game turns so sharply.
Despite its power, as you can imagine, the deck is weak to counter magic, faster aggro, and multiplayer. Facing more than one opponent with little interaction and few so creatures until turn 5 will get you killed.
Some of the honorable mentions for this deck include Draco for its high cmc and Colossus of Akros. I hope you enjoy! please let me know what cards would work well in this deck, especially any draw/discard effects or synergies. I believe everything manmade in this world has room for improvement, after all, including my decks.
