"Pontiff Of Blight" would be great in this deck because everything will then have extort or even double extort.

Pontiff of Blight lol you didnt read anything the intro posts nor the stuff under this that tell you about formatting xD nether the less, its a good card in the right situation, due to its cost and then stupidly high mana cost to use that many extort triggers you only make use of it when Crypt Ghast is on the field and he rarely stays out for long. So to that end i wouldnt say he makes the deck good, if you can fit it in, great but dont base a deck around it there are better cards that are cheaper mana wise

I can see why you'd have trouble with aggro decks. Most of your extort is coming from little creatures that would get trampled (no pun intended) by a good aggro deck. I'd definitely add a bit more creature hate. Necrobite , Victim of Night , and Rebuke would work well I think. Also Tragic Slip might be a good addition if you're running into huge creatures that keep killing off yours, as would Smite the Monstrous . Good Idea overall though. +1 from me!

Silence is your best friend in slowing down aggro...

Other than that, bringing in Pacifism from the sideboard can help slow down their creatures if you come against aggro..

Debt to the Deathless should be mainboard, brillaint win condition

Kingpin's Pet I personally don't like... yes the flying is nice, but as a 3 drop it is poor... I'd rather just have Basilica Screecher s for chump blocking flyers to keep you safe while you drain away their life!

Sanguine Bond will work brilliantly with any lifelink creatures and boost the effects of extort...

You might need a Diabolic Tutor . You only have one archangel and pontif each.

Yeah if you're going lifegain or just W/B in general Sanguine Bond opens up a lot of good opportunities.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. As normal, I always like input on what you would recommend that I replace. I'd still like to keep it 60 cards tho. Removing the Kingpin's Pet Would free up at least one spot (since I would probably trade it for a set of Basilica Screecher . So is there anything else I could replace?

I think with extort, especially lots of extort, you want Lots of mana. So I'd go up to 25 from your 23. One of the 2 Crypt Ghast s won't come out every game. I would suggest Not adding Silence like some people suggested. Silence makes you lose an entire card for a bit of tempo, and Debt to the Deathless is just a Ton of mana to not impact the board. If you had a full 4 Crypt Ghast then you could mainboard 1-2 debts. It's not easy for you to gain a full 4 life in 1 turn, as it needs 4 extort triggers, or some combination of extort/the few lifelinkers available, so I think you can cut those. Then all your creatures are quite small, and outclassed quickly, so I don't think Path of Bravery shine here either, however much I like that card. Both Blood Baron of Vizkopa and Archangel of Thune seem like good finishers.

Drop Pontiff of Blight major mana sink for small benefits, if you want real lifegain combo extort Nd lifelink, Crypt Ghast into Debt to the Deathless

For post-rotation I would add Solemn Offering , maybe even in the mainboard. Many enchantments will be there and it even triggers Angelic Accord on its own.

Honestly with the power of Theros I don't see a deck like this winning much past kitchen tables with your buddies. Not trying to be rude at all, just constructive, since you plan on going to FNM, and most people try to win at FNM. I'd recommend checking the spoilers coming out and working on building something new with all the powerful cards coming soon! Best of luck, cheers.

sideboard Crypt Incursion for reanimator decks.

September 5, 2013 3:35 p.m.

Thank you everyone for your suggestions. I have made changes based on what I have read. My own personal experience has found Debt to the Deathless to be powerful, but also very slow. I will admit that it is a very powerful finisher but I could only see use if the game drags on into late game. I personally don't mind Kingpin's Pet but I do see how Basilica Screecher is pretty much the same thing. I am debating if I should remove them and add 1 more screecher as well as a third Crypt Ghast .

I also removed the Angelic Accord s as it was too hard to gain 4 life at times. I also dropped Pontiff of Blight as added 1 more High Priest of Penance and Blood Baron of Vizkopa as well as Fiendslayer Paladin . So if extort doesn't work, the other heavy hitter will most likely hit. Still haven't fully decided what to do for the last 3 slots of the sideboard. Currently it's mainly a counter for aggro and control. I'm not sure I have to really worry about reanimator at my venue.

Keep the suggestions coming and I'll let you all know how the deck does tomorrow
