Thanks!

You do know Hangarback Walker/Hooded Hydra scale with Ezuri's ability right? I can cast Walker as a 2/2, then put counters on it every turn for free if I wanted to.

I like Bloodspore Thrinax and Master Biomancer, I just play them after I get some EXP counters and it's all good, since they also scale with Ezuri's ability.

Deadeye Navigator is just a card that's hard to make a cut for. I'm still testing everything.

I understand not wanting to go infinite but something that is good in your deck shouldn't be kept out because it can go infinite. i made a Ghave, Guru of Spores deck and i felt the same way at first but you shouldn't keep something out because it go's infinite. Sage of Hour's just think about it. it also gives Ezuri an experience counter. Also I noticed you didn't have Contagion Clasp these are just suggestions. love the deck looks like it will work well.

My deck Saproling/Fungus tribal has a lot of infinite combos was skeptical about each one.

Have you considered Glaring Spotlight?

it's always something to consider, but it's another card that fits into an awkward slot in the deck. You can only have so many utility cards before your deck approaches Goodstuff territory, so I have to be stingy.

Sweeeet, I was thinking of taing my Ezuri precon and morphing it into a token/infect build. This is a great jumping off point for me, thanks!

Where's the Triskelion? I'm disappointed, Skyfolk!

Also, Hooded Hydra and Lifeblood Hydra can be worth considering.

If you want another easy source of +1/+1 counters, I'd also recommend Forgotten Ancient. In EDH it grows ridiculously fast, and then on your upkeep you can distribute any number of counters to ANY number of creatures without targetting! It's often an Ezuri number 2 when it comes to putting counters on counter abusable creatures.

The first cards I thought about when I saw this commander were however low power creatures that synergize with how much damage they do.

Most notably, Cephalid Constable. Sure, he MIGHT just be too good, bouncing every single permanent they own to their hand... But man wouldn't it be funny! I mean, you can return UP to that many if you don't want to be a dick. You can let him keep his lands! Or at least most of them.

Cold-Eyed Selkie is another interesting card. It even follows with the precon! Why would you take him out? :(

Beguiler of Wills is also a card I'd consider.

I'm recommending several cards to add now, but none to take out. If you want some input on that just tell me and I'll give it a closer look.

Etched Oracle is another insane draw engine. Sorry for making so many duplicate posts, but it won't let me edit.

Most of the cards you suggested might go in a regular ezuri deck, sure. But as I've said many times, I build to theme. I never even considered Triskelion, Beguiler of Wills, Cold-Eye Selkie or Etched Oracle, partly because I feel they're all fairly meh in this deck (Triskelion is sometimes good, but a lot of the time it'll be a fairly useless 6-drop, Beguiler isn't as good as Simic Manipulator, Selkie won't always have evasion, and Oracle is so much worse than Fathom Mage.)

I've also already said that Hooded Hydra will probably go in the deck. It pays to read the other comments. Forgotten Ancient is something I've also thought about, but I run it in Animar and it's less impressive than you might think, unless I have doubling season out with it.

Cephalid Constable is interesting, but without more targeted evasion I don't want to run all these combat damage triggers, and if I start making all these changes then there's no way I can still call it a token deck.

Skyfolk: Sorry, was a bit too many comments to read so I just Ctrl+F'ed the cards in question and didn't see anything relating to them so I posted my suggestions.

What I don't understand though is why you would want to only focus on tokens? Tokens are extremely good in Ezuri because they give experience counters, but it feels like you aren't utilizing the experience counters that you get with this theme. A large part of Ezuri is pumping a SINGLE creature, which is why you'd want to back the tokens up with non token cards like Fathom Mage. and Simic Manipulator, which don't support your token strategy yet are in the deck (because they are awesome with Ezuri of course!)

I'm not trying to tell you how to build your deck, I often build my own decks with strange restrictions, I was just wondering why you decided to go for this approach. It's also a bit hard to seperate what counts as on-theme and what doesn't when cards like the ones I mentioned above are in the deck, yet the cards I suggested aren't. It might be good to make this clearer in the description that you only want suggestions for token generators.

My point is that I would either have to cut useful utility cards or token cards to run those other cards you suggested.

And I decided to go with a token theme because I like to be different, I hate making the same decks as everyone else. If I add every suggestion I get "because it's good with Ezuri" then suddenly my deck becomes a carbon copy of everyone else's... And that's just boring.

Something a lot of people don't realize: I play Commander to play casually. I don't want to totally optimize my whole deck and be competitive. It's Commander, not Modern.

I myself am building a token-ish version of this deck. I found that Overwhelming Stampede is great, but I am going with Dragon Throne of Tarkir for the repeatable version. And from the base deck it was clear that Noble Quarry was one of the best cards, so how about a Nemesis Mask for a repeatable "board wipe" in colorless. Card draw is important in any green combo-ish deck. Greater Good is a bit expensive but is one of the best. Alternatively, Hunter's Prowess can be HUGE value and is super cheap money wise. Also if you want cheap mass tokens, have you considered a Thopter Squadron. Cheap flying tokens are hard to come by and Thopter Squadron is a great place to get them especially with the little combo with Ezuri. Overall I love the fun and the value of your deck.

Trust me, this deck has enough card draw. I've never had an issue, especially because the deck does play quite slowly and reactively for a lot of the game.

I have Pathbreaker Ibex, that's a Stampede on legs. Did you not see it?

I'm not a huge fan of Nemeisis Mask type effects, never have been, never will be.

Hunter's Prowess is interesting, but I don't much need the card draw, and there are more effective ways to swing for lethal.

Thopter Squadron and Myr Battlesphere are under consideration, but I have no clue what to cut. Nothing is performing badly, and nobody is giving any reason as to why cards should be cut, or giving me ideas for cards to cut.

Still needs more pentavus. Hi Sleazebag, don't worry I got the stern talking to when I suggested cards on this flagged deck as well XD.

@Kyuj: No need to be passive aggressive. If you have a problem with me feel free to speak up. But just because I'm asking for help doesn't mean I want bad suggestions.

And Pentavus is a fine card, but as I JUST stated, I still need to make cuts and nobody's offered any insight there at all.

Actually Kyuj nevermind, I shouldn't be polite to someone who thinks that my response to you was a stern talking to. I was responding to your comment, but clearly you can't handle someone disagreeing with you on their own deck page.

November 27, 2015 3:53 p.m.

I would suggest that you replace Beast Within with Pongify. It's cheaper in both mana cost and price, and does essentially the same job. The deck looks great otherwise, and you've given me ideas for my own simic commander deck!

November 30, 2015 12:47 a.m.

Skyfolk says... #21

Thanks! But you know that Beast Within can target any permanent right?

I also already have a bunch of copies because it was printed in a duel deck that I bought and I had a couple copies before that for my EDH decks.

Has Feed the Pack come onto your radar yet? If it has and you choose not to run it, can you explain why? I have had all kinds of success with it, in my rushed up Ezuri brew, and no other Ezuri deck runs it. I am curious if there is something I am missing about it.

December 4, 2015 10:32 a.m.

Skyfolk says... #23

Well the reason I don't run it is that it can be a 6 mana do-nothing a lot when your deck is based around tokens and all of your creatures have a useful function. What if my board is 6 tokens, Ezuri and a Fathom Mage? Am i gonna sac Ezuri, Fathom Mage? No. It's just a lot of mana for something that will likely do nothing at some point.

SimplerDecked says... #24

I figured that miight be the reason... I run a less token based, more simic-ish Ezuri... So I've triggered Ezuri like 40 times in a turn with Feed the Pack...

Skyfolk says... #25

If I ran more expendable creatures, it would probably be a great card, but since you can only sac once per turn, and it has to be nontoken, it's not my cop o' tea.
