I have always wanted to make a Nath deck. I love playing elf tribal.... If you are having ramp issues check out my Ezuri Elf Deck. It has few issues with mana.

Thanks, but the main issues I have with mana are how to spend it all! haha Once I get out Priest, Archdruid, or Sword of the Animist, I'm usually just drowning in it. I'll definitely take a look though.

I run a similar Simic commander and honestly the mvp of the deck is consistently Craterhoof Behemoth. Also try Momir, Vig Simic Visonary. Also some of the flash death touch guys that I forget the name of for removal.

Thanks for the comment!

Craterhoof is okay, maybe I'll get it someday.

Momir strikes me as 'meh'. I'm sure he's good, but i want to spend the game playing, not searching my deck and shuffling once or twice a turn. Just not my style.

Have you thought about adding Nullmage Shepherd? It gets an Ezuri trigger AND gives a really viable source of artifact/enchantment removal.

That's a pretty good suggestion, thanks! I always prefer to have my removal be repeatable, and i hadn't heard of that card. Thanks!

You could use Wren's Run Packmaster to ged rid of your vast amount of mana. He is an elf which is nice and he synergizes quite well with Ezuri himself (although he won't trigger his ability - well you can't have everything, can you?).

I am actually a bit suprised not to see him. smiles

That's true! Actually she used to be in, back when this used to be a Nath deck (molded from the 2014 Freyalize Precon). As Nath, I had more mana troubles, so I cut the wolf-machine. I should dig her back out and find a spot. Might try to drop Timberwatch for him, since Timberwatch was good with Jarad as a non-combat elfball wincon, but now I could probably use a mana outlet more than a pump, since Ezuri does the same job, essentially.

Before I forget about it: I really like your take on Ezuri, Claw of Progress, as you take full advantage of him while not totally overcommiting -
You have my upvote! :-)

Since Ezuri works with adding +1/+1 counters, adding a Hardened Scales might be good to ass to how much is added.

It only adds a single counter at a time, not really worth a card slot IMO, especially since it's not a creature

When you play this deck, do you wait to cast non-ramp elves until you get Ezuri out, or is that just too greedy?

Hmm, well, the vast majority of my elves at 3 or less either fetch land or produce mana directly. Of those that don't, I'd probably prefer to cast Eladamri or Imperious Perfect on the turn before Ezuri, mana permitting. Eladamri offers good protection for Ezuri, and Perfect triggers Ezuri independent of her own ETB. The rest I'd wait to cast to keep the triggers coming.

Eladamri, Lord of Leaves prevents your commander's ability from affecting any elf.

Ah, that's true thanks for noticing! Might sub him out then...

Master Biomancer creates a nasty "nonbo" with Ezuri that is pretty undesirable, and too many are overlooking. Same goes for Bloodspore Thrinax, which I have seen put into a few builds. Example, you play a 1/1 and Biomancer is a simple 2/4, your 1/1 is entering as a 3/3. All the creatures you play while he is out will not trigger Ezuri's experience counter ability. It's unfortunate and something I found out when I considered building this deck, it is not normally my play style so it was news to me. The only way you can get around this is with combos like Primordial Hydra and Corpsejack Menace (which you can't play because it's B/G, it's just an example), Corpsejack makes the counters considered to be placed onto the creature rather than having them already on the hydra as it enters. It's aggravating but crucial errata that Wizards failed to include on Gatherer, had to find out via several forums and on the EDH discussion section on this page.

I'm aware of Biomancer's interaction with Ezuri, but I can cast him after i have about 10+ XP, and at that point Biomancer is doing Ezuri's job for every creature. Biomancer is simply awesome in this deck despite the nonbo with Ezuri. Plus, he'll often get removed after a couple turns and clearing some removal, at which point i can go back to feeding Ezuri.

Right on. It's definitely decent, it just depends on play style and preference. A lot of people are running it and not realizing the negative interaction, I personally just can see better things going into his place that aren't so conditional. Besides that, definitely +1 your deck.

Man, you really need Devoted Druid. Works almost as well as Gyre Sage in the ramp department, he's an elf, and he has <= 2 power.

The other thing that would work well for some good card draw is Inspiring Call. Lots of card draw, and a combat trick :D.
