You can ignore my previous comment. Green Sun's Zenith was already on your list I noticed, I looked over it.

Probably Dryad Arbor isn't included because it's a creature with summoner sickness and it will also die to boardwipes. The upside however is that it counts as an extra on everything that requires as many creatures as possible like Cradle/Glimpse/Itlimoc/card drawing abilities. What are your thoughts on this?

Was Seedborn Muse (not an elf tho) an option for you to protect your elves against most boardwipes with Ezuri on the battlefield?

What are your thoughts on Yavimaya Hollow to regenerate i.e. Ezuri and the rest of your elves with Ezuri?

I am building this decklist, but I have a few cards I run I am surprised you don't have on this list currently. One is Vanquisher's Banner which pumps up the elves but gives us a card draw each time we play an elf, Kenrith's Transformation which is a form of removal that also draws a card, and last but not least Boreal Druid , Utopia Sprawl and Wild Growth which are 1 drop mana ramp?

Is there a reason you aren't running these?

also, have you tried running Boreal Druid and Sylvan Scrying ?

Nelane775 There are better card draws like guardian project and beastwhisperer than vanquisher's banner. I prefer Lignify over kenriths transformation, and boreal druid can only tap for 1 colorless which early game can put us behind since most of our cards are one drops with green mana. Sylvan scrying is great card but I prefer crop rotation over it. Sprawl and Growth are great ramp, but we run mana dorks instead because we want to have as many creatures as possible on the field.

Thundercall Seedborn Muse would be great if we could get yeva out more reliably, other wise theres not much we can do on another person's turn. I would like to add both Dryad arbor and Yavimaya Hollow. Dryad arbor is a solid 0 drop creature that we could get with green suns and would also help with our cradles.

Would you consider Vedalken Orrery as a back-up for Yeva then? I know you can tutor for Yeva with your deck while you can't for artifacts.

If you would consider Vedalken Orrery and/or Seedborn Muse, what would you take out?

What would you remove from Dryad Arbor and Yavimaya Hollow? 2x Forest?

What about recursion such as Restock and Once and Future ? I can understand the mana cost may be a bit high. Just a thought.

Candelabra of Tawnos to really go over the top?

Thundercall I feel like thats overkill for mana but I would 100% run it if I had it.

Xenephrim I think regrowth, ewit, and praetor are enough. If I would add another it would be Noxious Revival

Do you think that Triumph of the Hordes could find its way into this deck?

December 20, 2019 2:48 a.m.

WUBRG97 I am not a huge fan of the card, I'd rather run Glistener Elf instead. I feel like triumph only really works if we have enough mana to be able to pump our elves plus cast the spell. For that amount of mana I'd rather just pump twice.

Have you put thought I to kenriths transformation over lignify? 0/4 vs 3/3 AND draw a card?

Hey! Nice flavor tribal deck. Had fun play testing it. Do you think Incubation Druid would be an option? With a +1/+1 counter on it, it makes itself arbitrarily large with Umbral Mantle.

That's the only elf recommendation I have. I do have a few more ideas that aren't exactly necessary, but strong.

I know you're trying to stay on theme with elves, but maybe consider a Seedborn Muse as it allows you to pump out value on other people's turns. This helps because it allows for you to tap out if needed and still have mana back up for interaction. I know it was suggested recently, but I believe there is extreme value to swing out and then have an untapped board state as you pass.

I'm not sure of your meta, but a well placed Seedtime could do some good.

I think the competitive meter is busted lol. Says it’s 58% casual LMAO

What do you think of the new Llanowar Visionary CommanderPatsy?

July 7, 2020 2:52 p.m.

WUBRG97 I think its a good card but not for this deck. 3 mana for a dork that taps 1 one isn't great.

CommanderPatsy: I figured as much, but would like to hear your thoughts as well. How do you then feel about the new Allosaurus Shepherd? Seems like an insane card for this deck.

Hey this is a really fun deck that (as you said) can really steal wins. It sits nicely at my higher powered EDH table despite being mono-colour. As far as the guide goes, I really appreciated the list of combo pairs/groups. It made it much easier to learn the various patterns. All the other sections were equally concise and well designed. Really great job!

Wow what a cool looking Primer. Solid deck, you did an absolutely great job! I'm a big Elf tribal fan, because Elves where my first deck ever.

Cool cards that I personally enjoyed playing:

This deck looks already pretty strong, if you want to play on a cEDH table, you just should do some small adjustments:

I played elves in almost every format and cool combo from modern was: Cloudstone Curio + Heritage Druid + Nettle Sentinel = infinite mana or with something like Elvish Visionary or Beast Whisperer you can also draw your entire deck if you want

smilodex Hey! Was just making my adjustments, I havent updated the list in awhile but it should be all up to date with my current build. I really appreciate all your feeback! I actually decided to cut all planeswalkers cause I just felt liek they werent needed. Let me know what you think of the updated list! Again thanks for the feedback!

Cool, glad that I could help. :) Wow, I would like to test the list right now! The deck ramps so fast and it has so many possibilities to generate infinite mana (please put sword of Paruns back in).

Therefore you have to play Walking Ballista, because it's an important alternative wincon. outside of the combat step or they can be used as boardwipe / removal / pingengine. And since you added Cloudstone Curio, I can highly recommend Llanowar Visionary instead of Wood Elves, as you have ramp + draw in one card. It's good that you added Yisan, he's a fantastic toolbox, but to get the most out of him you'll need to form a cmc chain and unfortunately you're not currently playing cards with Yisan from a 4-CMC creature like Temur Sabertooth Regal Force (into >> Craterhoof Behemoth). Therefore, you should add at least 1-2x 5CMC and 6CMC cards each. Personally, I always found Somberwald Stag strong in my Yisan deck, because he's a Removal on a Stick which can be tutored (with Curio and Sabertooth, the whole thing can be worn out even more) or, as already mentioned, Ohran Frostfang...

As a 6 CMC card I would play the Woodland Bellower (or depending on the meta Kogla, the Titan Ape or Bane of Progress

I would use one of these combinations: Somberwald Stag + Woodland Bellower Or Ohran Frostfang + Kogla, the Titan Ape

So your tutor chain is complete, so you can easily turn an Elvish Mystic into a Craterhoof with Yisan (/ Pod)

Do you have Copperhorn Scout in the deck for an important reason? If not, I would cut him.

I'll probably make myself unpopular with the next suggestion, but I'd cut the Nyxbloom Ancient for Sword of the Paruns . I personally love Nyxbloom as a card (but in my Kruphix deck), but in this deck he isn't a combopiece and because of that he's a classic win-more card, because if you reach 7+ mana you should normally win in your next turns at worst. The ancient adds 3x mana, that's a lot but also often annoying for your opponents to see you calculating and infinite mana (with the sword) is just always better than 3x mana.

I would cut Autumn's Veil for Birthing Pod. Because Autumn's Veil isn't by far as good as his big brother. Autumn doesn't draw you a card, doesn't protect vs. Boardwipes or against non blue/black removal. In addition, you now have the new Allosaurus against counterspells in your deck, so I would rather play the Birthing Pod to provide redundancy together with Yisan and so that you can look for the right creatures.

Solid list! I built a similar elf-tribal deck back when I started playing commander, and there are definitely new crazy pieces ( Allosaurus Shepherd is crazy good...and expensive). Looking at Commander Legends, the only elf card I thought might be usable is Rootweaver Druid as Gilanra, Caller of Wirewood is more big creature casts based, and Numa, Joraga Chieftain is mainly +1/+1 counters based. The only other mono-green elf that's new in the set is Fin-Clade Fugitives which is, in my opinion, not a great card. Outside the perviously listed cards Horizon Stone might be okay for the deck in case you get a ton of mana but don't yet have a clear finisher. I'm probably gonna rebuild this deck sometime soon, I cannibalized it to build a Chulane deck, but after some of the Commander Legends reprints I saw while opening packs, I got nostalgic about rebuilding it. Guess I'm gonna have to proxy the Shepherd till he gets reprinted or something. :/

awesome list! I assume you are running Circle of Dreams Druid, its too good not to. Also, an infinite I don't see mentioned is the Argothian Elder + Maze of Ith combo (maze of ith is better now that we have yavimaya)

also, I definitely recommend Benefactor's Draught. this card is definitely a key piece to going off, and can combo pretty good with e-wit/sabertooth.

I was inspired in your deck, i builded a similar one and it's a blast!
A question, i have Grim Monolith, could be added to make a infinite combo with some of the other combo pieces in this deck? Thanks
