Why do you have Dragon Fangs in this deck? You will never be able to recur it in Tiny Leaders.

Actually Dragon Fangs was there as another option to get trample. I'm testing Canopy Cover instead.

I was considering Quirion Ranger awhile, but I'm not sure if worth it. Don't know what should I take for him. Any thoughts?

there ar various ways you can work with Counters in green. +1/+1 counters? Managorger Hydra + Hardened Scales + Strangleroot Geist + Avatar of the Resolute and other possible green +1/+1 counter cards ( which are NUMEROUS btw). and what about some proliferate for the Yisan counters: Throne of Geth for instance? or even +1/+1?? and how about some serious VALUE creatures: Leatherback Baloth is just outstanding in any mono-green pseudo-ramp or aggro deck. he's fantastic and won't hurt your synergy at all. hope some of the cards suggested might help. :D

I was considering Leatherback Baloth before but he's "just a big guy" so I cut it for Scryb Ranger. Throne of Geth doesn't worth because I only have 5 artifacts and really need them working.

I didn't think in counters while building this deck, but I'll consider your advices. Thanks for the help.

Why dont you use Vines of Vastwood instead of Awaken the Bear?

September 25, 2015 2:58 p.m.

jimmynitos says... #8

I just don't consider Vines of Vastwood, just never think about it. Awaken the Bear give trample to a creature, so I don't know if I want to change that. Vines of Vastwood seems better used as a defensive spell, same with Ranger's Guile.

I'll do some tests and see what happens, thanks for the tip!

I also think that you should consider a Primordial Hydra, instead of for example, Ferropede

jimmynitos says... #10

Ferropede is a key card in this deck, so I can't remove it. Also, that Hydra is out of my budget.

Add lightning greves and swift foot boots

jimmynitos says... #12

I'm avoiding shroud because of combat tricks. Haste is not necessary here, Mask of Avacyn pumps Ferropede and Canopy Cover protects Yisan nicely, so I'll pass the boots as well.

Gyre Sage for mana, maybe Leatherback Baloth or Kalonian Tusker for beef+devotion?

November 5, 2015 11:35 a.m.

jimmynitos says... #14

Gyre Sage is a good replacer for Whisperer of the Wilds, but the fact it won't give me the mana T3 unless I play another creature scares me a little. I was thinking in Beastcaller Savant to this slot, but only one mana for a creature with 2 cmc seems not optimal. Any thoughts?

Also, I used to run Leatherback Baloth but cut it for better creatures.

You have 19 creatures, and GSage isn't hard to evolve since green is a beefy color. Sure it's 1 mana on T3, but it's potentially 2 on T4, 3 on T5... etc. It's ultimately up to you there.

Baloth is amazing in most mono green TL decks, but he's better when you need him for his size/devotion. Again, that's your call based on your meta.

Where's the Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx? :)

jimmynitos says... #16

I'm afraid that Gyre Sage can slow down my game on T3. If I cast Wasteland Viper after GSage, it's a mana on T3 for sure, but if I don't, a Fyndhorn Elves could be a better option. Mid- and late game, Sage is better for sure. I'll try it and see what happens.

I don't think I really need Nykthos, the elves can generate lots of mana without a problem.

Just now I realised GSage will hardly evolve, it depends completely of Bow of Nylea, so Joraga Treespeaker takes the slot for now. After testing I'll update description and decklist.

You're more elf deck than beast green, the latter of which is better for gsage

jimmynitos says... #19

Deck updated, after some tests Seeker of Skybreak seems to be my better option.

I think Gyre Sage could end up putting in a lot of work for you, actually. It won't evolve a ton on its own, but your Power Conduit and Bow of Nylea can speed that along, especially as she ends up feeding her own mana sink, essentially. You should probably be running Oran-Rief, the Vastwood in here anyway.

I also think you could get a lot of goodies out of Wirewood Hivemaster and Wirewood Symbiote--the latter has many uses, protecting from removal being one of them.

I mean, remember that Gyre Sage getting counters not only gives you mana--it also beefs up into a nice fat creature that's especially good for defense.

jimmynitos says... #22

The problem with Gyre Sage is the early game, Seeker of Skybreak allows me to generate more mana for the same cost, so I dropped GSage. In mid-late game, I generally have a good board presence, so it's not a real problem.

Wirewood Hivemaster can be a great addition, thanks for this one! Oran-Rief was not working in this list, so I probably won't change this.

NoSoyYucateco says... #23

Yeah, no problem. You know better than anyone what the tempo of the deck is like, so if Oran-Rief or Gyre Sage isn't working, then leave them out. Deck looks great.

Why is Sylvan Offering not here? This deck, in my opinion, isn't very well structured. Hold on, I have a tiny leader elf deck. I will soon post it and you'll see why Ezuri, Renegade Leader, Wirewood Lodge. Elvish Archdruid, Joraga Warcaller, Copperhorn Scout, Taunting Elf, Rhys the Exiled, Priest of Titania, and Rhys the Redeemed are a BIG necessity in this format for elves

I think that commander is great, just the deck structure isn't.
