Enchantment (4)

Instant (4)

Sorcery (2)

The idea of this deck is to storm your opponent using flying monsters, creating a bunch of spirit tokens, which get boosted by Thunderclap Wyvern . This is my second standard deck, so it probably has a bunch of flaws, but hopefully it turns out okay!

Anyways, the breakdown:

Faerie Miscreant is the early game stabilizer, and the drawing from having two or more of them is just an added bonus. It also costs a blue rather than a white, meaning it's easier to activate Spirit Bonds. It also works as a great beat stick for smacking your opponent.

Spirit Bonds is one of the cards of the deck, as it gives me a large army of spirit tokens, and it gives me the ability to give me creatures indestructible. Valorous Stance provides the indestructible benefits as well, and can be used to destroy big things on my opponents side.

Aven Sunstriker is a nice early game stabilizer, especially nice against aggros. He's rather frail, but with a boost from Megamorph or Thunderclap Wyvern , he becomes far more intimidating.

Monastery Siege is extremely useful, as people often try to hit my specific creatures like Thunderclap or Archangel with spells. Therefore, I usually pick Dragons, unless I already have a couple of cards I want to discard in my hand.

Thunderclap Wyvern . He's probably the best card in the deck, giving +1/+1 to all my creatures, including the spirit tokens. I can also flash him in for a surprise block, or to increase the power of all my other blocking creatures. I can't describe how much I like this guy.

Ajani Steadfast is a fantastic planeswalker that goes well with the deck, especially with Dragonlord Ojutai and Archangel of Tithes. His +1 is very convenient for a bit of life gain and vigilance, his -2 is awesome for +1/+1 counters, and he just works well in general.

Icefall Regent and Wingmate Roc are nice 5 drops that help finish the game. Wingmate Roc brings in 2 3/4s. while Icefall Regent can tap problematic creatures.

Everything else is just utility: Ojutai's Command, Dig Through Time, and Monastery Siege are great cards.

Let me know what you think!

Went to FNM for the first time last Friday. Expected to get my but handed to me, but it ended up going fairly well. I ended up going 2-3. The games:

Game 1: Went against a green-white Hardened Scales deck. Ended up doing fairly well, winning game one, narrowly losing game two to a Hangarback Walker, and crushing game three with a Icefall Regent+Valorous Stance combo, tapping his 7/7 and then destroying his other creature when he added more counters as a response. Won, 2-1

Game 2: Interesting budget green-white counter deck. Didn't really seem to have a huge overlying theme, but was still fun to fight against. I won, 2-1.

Game 3: Here was were things started getting brutal. I was destroyed by a very well made constellation enchantment deck running Sigil of the Empty Throne and every other enchantment created. Even after side-boarding in Erase and Vyrn Wingmare, it wasn't nearly enough and I was smashed.

Game 4: This was probably my most equal match-up. Went against an Abzan counters deck, using Valorous Stance to take care of Siege Rhino and Anafenza, the Foremost. Lost in game one to a Siege Rhino onslaught. In game 2, got out a Faerie and a Spirit early and proceeded to beat down unanswered. In game 3, he side-boarded in Tragic Arrogance and destroyed my board presence twice, which I just couldn't recover from. Lost, 1-2.

Game 5: This was my most interesting game. I fought against a 5-color Chromanticore deck that abused the mechanism of Hero's Blade and legendary creatures. It was actually really fun to fight against such a unique deck, and I was okay losing. I lost the first game fairly convincingly. In the second game, I was down to 2 life, and he had Chromanticore, Dragonlord Dromoka with a Hero's Blade, and Dragonlord Kolaghan on the field. I had Dromoka and Kolaghan tapped down for a bit by Icefall Regent, but they were destroyed. I drew for a Dig Through Time, delved for 6, found an End Hostilities, nabbed it, and played it with my 5 remaining mana. Sadly, he dashed a Zurgo Bellstriker next turn for the win, and I lost 0-2.

Overall, it was a great time, and it gave me a lot of ideas of what to improve. I switched up the Sideboard a lot, switching End Hostilities for Tragic Arrogance, threw in a couple Encase in Ice for specific matchups, and added in Radiant Purge. I was really happy with how this deck played, and can't wait to improve it!
