Instead of Misty Rainforest and Scalding Tarn put in Polluted Delta and Flooded Strand when they come out this month.

Yeah It's defiantly better to play those fetches but I am close to just cutting the whole fetch shock base for the traditional fearies style land base

One thing you have to take into account when trying to build faeries is that a lot of the spells really hurt you over time. Bitterblossom, thoughtseize hurts a lot when you don't have some sort of life gain. With the fetches and the shock lands, you're dealing 3 damage to yourself that you can't afford. My advice is to cut it into a 2 colored deck or maybe add a Batterskull .

Boarding Batterskull is a great idea, Ill add it into the board probably over the Sword at this point, I just don't think its a good main board spell because in a lot of match ups we don't want to be casting 5 mana beaters because we gain our advantage through tempo

Doom blade a tarmogoyf? or some other black removal, really path to exile is not needed at all and in my opinion faeries should stay black / blue. Why splash white for 1 card when you can do the same thing with black and not give them the free land. I have a faerie list, take a look at that for ideas.

Faeries Altered Here is my faerie list, it preforms pretty well at friday night magic.

Change the sword to sword of war and peace, I use that one because it gives me life gain and also deals extra damage to an opponent to finish them off.

Alright made some changes such as cutting white, even though the board was strong I think faeries doesn't want a fetch shock base. I like the new board cards and I really feel like Sword of Feast and Famine is the best because it plays around removal that we otherwise couldn't such as Abrupt Decay

Actually Sword of Light and Shadow would be better, gives you life an able to bring back a fairie from the grave an gives you protection from white an black. The two colors with the most removal an most used removal such as go for the throat, path to exile, lighting helix, terminate, dismember, doom blade an your hated one abrupt decay
October 13, 2014 7:19 p.m.
I think you're right, Sword of Light and Shadow is the choice

Sword of feast and fanom is really good cause you can tap out an untap but i think the sword of light and shadow is slightly better
October 15, 2014 9:21 p.m.
Yeah I liked Sword of Feast and Famine , but again I think you're right because it protects against the same thing and if we do connect damage with it we can grab fearies that will put us farther ahead
October 16, 2014 10:06 a.m.
Right, do you think its good enough to play main board?

A lot of decks run path main now plus a lot decks have white in them from some source, it couldn't hurt to try it out. Black isn't played as much as white but is still strong enough to worry about. plus i believe esper us gonna start being a thing so do it

just wanted to point out you have Esper as one of the Hubs for this deck when each card reveals it's a Dimir deck. Just thought you might have not noticed it.

Oops yeah thanks It originally splashed for esper now its just U/B, thanks

I think the number of Scions is a bit high and you need the play set of spell stutter faeries...it is just too good.

Online I have been having great success running 2 Spell Pierce instead of Spell Snare. Also i love running 4 Creeping Tar Pit, he is just a consistent threat and coming into play tapped hardly ever is a problem.
The biggest concern i have with your list is a lack of removal in just 2 Fatal Push. I've been playing 4 Fatal Push, 2 Go for the Throat and 1 Murderous Cut and its been great for me.
Now remember that my list is a control list with plenty of counters, removal, Ancestral Vision so if your building a more creature centric aggro/tempo list then my suggestions maybe irrelevant.
Good luck with everything!
February 3, 2017 12:39 p.m.
Thanks for the suggestions! Yeah I have been gearing my list towards more of a tempo/creature based deck but I still think you are right that Creeping Tar Pit is a good beater and that I could stand to add some more removal, I will definitely throw in a Murderous Cut because it is so efficient.
