Sideboard

This is my version of Black/White Control, based around legendary creatures and the card ever after. The collection of legendary creatures who get a happily ever after is why I named the deck Fairy Tale. That in addition to the Nemeses, Unmakings, Traitors, and other characters and events they encounter along the way seem like the making of a Fairy Tale.

MAINBOARD:

B/W Control has a nice suite of removal with Languish, Grasp of Darkness, Anguished Unmaking, Ruinous Path, Declaration in Stone, and Planar Outburst. I've been experimenting with Collective Brutality as a way to discard Bruna and/or Gisela.

Ever After is like a less random Collected Company. Generally, I can get 8-11 mana worth of value from an Ever After, and ideally can close out the game by netting us a Brisela at the end of main phase 2.

Kalitas is the best valued 4 drop in Standard at the moment and can net us a large army of zombies with a Planar Outburst or Languish hitting the table with him out. It's also important that both he, Shambling Vent and Gisela have Lifelink so that we can stabilize by turn 4. Especially with Anguished Unmaking being unconditional removal for 3 life, it's nice to recover from even just the damage we deal to ourselves. Linvala also nets us at least 5 life when she enters the battlefield, but rarely gets us the 3/3 angel. The 2 bodies and the 5 life really do help us last long enough to close out the game.

Thalia's Lancers is effectively a tutor for any creature in the deck that leaves behind a 4/4 first striking body. At the point you can start casting Thalia's Lancers, you can effectively cast any other creature in the deck.

Sorin, Grim Nemesis can close out games by himself. The amount of high costed cards in this deck can destroy an opponent's life total and net you cards. His -X is important for not only stabilizing, but also clearing out a pesky Avacyn or Gisela an opponent might be playing. If he gets his ultimate off, you should've won already and will probably win next turn.

Ob Nixilis Reignited helps dig through your deck and keep the board clear at the same time. The life lost from his +1 is usually mitigated by the lifelink.

The deck is only truly attached to Brisela, Voice of Nightmares, the rest of the creatures are expendable because they come back with an Ever After.

SIDEBOARD:

There are a slew of Planeswalkers making tokens in Standard currently. Nissa and Gideon both get hit by Anguished Unmaking, but their tokens get wiped by a Declaration in Stone. Adjust accordingly.

Brisela stops all 3 cmc spells, but Collected Company can still cheat them in. Nothing feels worse than Reflector Mage on a fully formed Brisela. The Infinite Obliterations are meant to hit them and ensure they don't stop our best laid plans. Additionally, for the mirror match/other decks trying to make Brisela, naming an opponent's Gisela ruins their day. With the prevalence of creatures mainboard in Standard right now, I would highly recommend actually moving these to the mainboard. -1 Ruinous Path & -1 Collective Brutality could do the trick here.

Dark Petition is useful when you're looking for spells for answers. When you can cast it, you can grab almost any removal spell and cast it with the mana produced from spell mastery.

Secure the Wastes is a flex spot in our sideboard. A majority of B/W Control lists use it to combo off with a Westvale Abbey, or get some attackers or blockers at the end of an opponent's turn. This list doesn't run a Westvale Abbey. If you wanted to run it, I would recommend throwing in Cave of Koilos and colorless Eldrazi cards to get some use out of the colorless mana. As the list is currently, it's too important to not miss a colored land drop so that you can keep the removal and control going until the late game.

Hopefully this list can help lead you to a happily ever after in your future.
