Maybeboard

This deck list is elf ball at its finest. Hyper ramp and card draw from casting elves that will eventually becoming self sustaining. Things really get fun when tyvar or joraga treesinger or Birchlore rangers turn the elf warrior tokens into mana dorks and/or when you can get the untap shenanigans mixing with (tap for x mana where x equals the number of elves) type mana dorks.

I originally was running Lathril as the commander but found that she wasn’t really helping me win. She also kind of encouraged opponents to keep me from getting a critical mass of elves by having the obvious 10 elf mark for them to avoid. By going with Numa and Nadier I was able to make almost as many tokens as Lathril while having ten cards in my opening hand. The two commanders coming at very different points in the curve is also a big plus. Lath is still gold in the 98, but is just a part of the elf ball rather than the focus. The deck doesn’t really have enough sac outlets to play into Nadier’s strengths, so he ends up being board wipe insurance along side prowess of the fair. Numa is good at providing a place to put excess mana when your hand starts running thin.

Removal and interaction in general are the weak points for the list. There are plenty of ways to to deal with problems artifacts and enchantments but creatures, especially evasive or passive ones are more tricky. The problem is finding card slots for removal without weakening to high ratio of elves. I kind of wish there was an elven version of Murderous rider. Viridian Longbow might be an option if I choose to add back in more elves with deathtouch or infect. Infect with Numa or Joraga Warcaller could be game ending on its own.

The current victory condition tends to be death by a horde of elves. Skemfar Shadowsage And Shaman of the pact can also finish out a game if you have enough of a board presence. I am considering adding exsanguinate or torment of hail fire to turn the ramp/mana dorks lethal as well.

Current combos

Elvish Champion + Yavimaya, Cradle of Growth . All elves gain forestwalk and all lands are forests= unblockable elves.

Ambush Commander + Yavimaya, Cradle of Growth all of your lands are now elves and work the the rest of the elf ball. Just make sure to keep two mana up to sacrifice the ambush commander before any board wipes, so you don’t loose all your lands.

Priest of Titania + Staff of Domination infinite mana as long as you have 5 elves. Also able to draw most of your deck, untap all your creatures and tap all of your opponent’s creatures. Works with Elvish Archdruid, Circle of Dreams Druid, or Wirewood Channeler too.

Priest of Titania + Umbral Mantle infinite mana as long as you have 4 elves. Also untap any tapped creatures and can give any creatures that can tap (for mana or anything else) infinite power until end of turn. umbral mantle also just ends the game if Lathril, priest of Titania and 8 other elves are on the board.

Immaculate Magistrate + Joraga Warcaller both the magistrate and Numa can add +1 counters to the warcaller to make the elven horde even more powerful.

Nadier, Agent of the Duskenel + Wren's Run Packmaster Nadier makes elf tokens every time he leave the board, so you can cast packmaster to bounce him and then net a bunch of elf warriors. Even more fun is to use the Wirewood Symbiote to return the pack master back to your hand, allowing Nadier to return and untapping another elf at the same time.
