So... I heard you like butts. Death by butts? Living the dream my friend.

Quite honestly, Assault Formation hasn't splashed enough to make big waves. You'll most often encounter games where your opponent won't expect your fluffy butty Sheep to swing for 5 then swing lethal the next turn with 2 Shape the Sands.

Does the deck really need an explanation? Not much. The deck consists of creatures with big butts and you cannot lie how Assault Formation makes them from harmless to harmful with an opponent gaping in surprise.

In events that Assault Formation isn't in your opening hand, use Anticipate and Commune with the Gods to help you out. If still in moments you're still struggling, try your best to enchant a heroic creature like Lagonna-Band Trailblazer or Favored Hoplite with Ordeal of Heliod to drag the game on.

All in all, the deck only performs poorly against removal heavy decks like Sultai Control and Esper but that's why we have Negate in the sideboard. As for other decks, we tough it out with our big, juicy butts.
