You should add Vampire Hexmage

No, hex mage interacts with one card in this deck adding it for that one purpose would be pointless as Thing in the Ice  Flip is nice but worded such that even if I did add hexmage I would still need to cast and instant or sorcery to trigger the flip. Hexmage just isn't really worth the payoff it offers given the deck economy it takes up.

Why did you take out the Isochron Scepters? I thought it made a great addition. I am building this deck and added Wipe Away to the side board. The split second ability gives a wide range of possibilities.

The scepter was nice but I've found that it rarely ever earned its space in the deck. Sadly modern is not kind to artifacts and so scepter would often fall pray to cheap removal which ultimately cost me card advantage.

Fair enough. I will have to play test my deck once it gets it. I have the replacements for it if necessary so I am excited to see how it goes.

What is the plan against Bogles? Almost every spell targets...

Wait, so why not Remand in all of this? Also, while it is a higher cost, what about Repulse since it also nets you a card?

Regardless of those, I'd find space for Call to Heel since it has both offensive and defensive qualities to it.

@lil_cheez: you can target the bogle's auras and chump them to death....

Follow up mention is that I admittedly do not see any spots to take out except in regards to either Unsubstantiate or Eye of Nowhere since one is sorcery speed and the other doesn't net you a card. However it may be true that you don't need the card draw anyway, so idk really.

May I reccomend Isochron Scepter? you just stick a counterspell, or better Silence or Boomerang with it, and you just ruin them. Silence would essentially only let them play lands and instants, forever, for only 2 mana, so I might put that in, just for an isochron combo

I used to run Isochron Scepter but it under performs in this deck for a fair few reasons. As for Silence I do not plan to add another color as such a change would only detract from the efficiency of the deck.

You might consider swapping [Vapor Snag] for [Void Snare]. Lose instant speed for the ability to bounce any nonland.

I used to use that card, but it under performed as instant speed is invaluable.

ArchFline, I meant Silence as a combo with Isochron Scepter. you don't need another color if its colorless :D

Very Nice Brew! I really like the synergy of Warped Devotion with all the bounce effects here... that with Jace's Archivist and Liliana's Caress is a very nice touch. I'd say Waste Not would be a neat choice here at least to try out. However; it is kinda in conflict with Thing in the Ice  Flip when it gets transformed you will lose your zombie tokens (but some chump blockers never hurt)... and adding double Black to your mana pool kinda seems like a waste because your average CMC is 1.98 and you have very little black here (but can still increase your casting power to transform TITI). The perk of DRAWING Cards is always welcome in my book... the more cards in your hand = the more tools you have available to control the game so id say its worth a shot! +1 from me

I used to run Waste Not but dropped it in favor of Liliana's Caress given that it was a more reliable win con as compared to the alternative albeit less flavorful.

No, Eye of Nowhere can remove lands which is ideal.

Aether Spellbomb to counter Emrakul combo, very important

ArchFline says... #20

I have Thing in the Ice  Flip which works to send it back however there are few stituations in which Emerakul is played and even fewer that are meaningful as I can usually destroy their combo by piecing it apart.

Hey have you thought about Devastation Tide? Devastation Tide

October 28, 2016 10:39 p.m.

ArchFline says... #22

Yes and it's really bad in this deck, as it removes my Warped Devotion which makes it non-ideal for me.

i really like how this deck looks, can you compit against other strong modern decks?

October 31, 2016 3:40 p.m.

ArchFline says... #24

@Shedrick the deck works well against most combo decks or decks that rely on a limited card base to win. It generally loses to hyper aggro or similar rushing strategies.

Heh, this is basically the deck I've been trying to build for a while. I might mess with it for a bit, but this is solid.
