All praise Kaldheim, the saviour of Angel Tribal!

This latest set has done more for Angels as tribe than any other set before, in my opinion, including the likes of Alara block, any given Core Set or even anything set on Innistrad. This may seem like a bold statement but I say this for three reasons: 1. It gives us more options in a colour pair with surprisingly scant options beyond a few on Ravnica such as Angel of Despair or Seraph of the Scales 2. It gives Angels a sub-theme beyond keyword soup, namely the graveyard-centric strategy exemplified by Rampage of the Valkyries and Renegade Reaper And 3. The most important point, in my opinion. The fact that it provided a significant upgrade to the deck's low CMC slots, with stuff like Vengeful Reaper's foretell, Youthful Valkyrie and the real MVP of the setStarnheim Aspirant, which has been largely absent from any Angel-centric sets previously

As such, due to the glut of new fantastic support, I've decided to give my own Angel tribal deck an overhaul, turning it from a clunky mono-White Lyra Dawnbringer deck to a much more streamlined pile with our lovely lady Firja, Judge of Valor at the helm. I should still make note, though, that this deck is still casual, playing with a lot of high CMC silliness, and is also built to somewhat of a budget so no Avacyn, Angel of Hope, Archangel of Thune or Brisela, Voice of Nightmares as much as I wish there was.

The main strategy of the deck is simple. Get out a load of Angels and then beat face with them. I mean, that is what Angels do best. In order to help with the former, the deck features a small reanimation package (Ascent of the Worthy, Victimize, Emeria, The Sky Ruin, etc.) fueled by handful of self-mill cards like Altar of Dementia, Entomb and our lovely commander, as well as tribal mana reducers like Herald's Horn and the aforementioned Starnheim Aspirant. In regard to the beating face, the deck also has a few tricks up its sleeves to aid with that like your tribal buffs (e.g. Door of Destinies) and keyword granters like Angelic Skirmisher and Lyra Dawnbringer.

In addition to this, the deck also features two infinite mill combos to help close out the game should you be in dire straits or the game be dragged out too long. Namely, these are Altar of Dementia + Bishop of Wings + Maskwood Nexus and Altar of Dementia + Angel of Glory's Rise + Maskwood Nexus . The Bishop variant does require one extra creature to sacrifice to start the combo chain going but that is not a difficult task in this deck. The Bishop variant works by sacrificing Bishop's Spirit tokens to Altar of Dementia to mill an opponent, which procs the Bishop's "When an Angel dies" clause (due to Nexus giving everything Changeling) to create another Spirit which is also an Angel thanks to Nexus, which in turn can be sacrificed for a mill and a token, and so on. The Glory's Rise variant, on the other hand, works by sacking the Angel to the Altar in response to its own ETB trigger, which revives all Humans in the graveyard, which it now is due to Nexus, thus causing another Glory's Rise ETB and repeating the process until everyone else is milled out. (I should say that you should be careful of playing Glory's Rise with Nexus out in other situations, however, as you run the risk of exiling all of your creatures if you aren't careful, since Nexus makes everything a Zombie as well as a Human)

I should also mention a couple of cards that could very easily fit in here but didn't make the cut. The deck has a decent lifegain theme within it which makes Aetherflux Reservoir a fantastic card for the deck, but it was unfortunately cut as the 101st card (Also works with the Bishop combo as also gain infinite life). Also, a fantastic piece of tribal support from Kaldheim I neglected was Pyre of Heroes, which I mainly didn't include due to the deck being casual and essentially Birthing Pod being a bit much for my playgroup
