HeartOfGold hmm, if you were looking to make your deck more controlly/midrangy, hmmm....if you added in Herald of Kozilek for a t3, and Brutal Expulsion and a few more counterspells, you would be able to keep their board empty while you proceeded to punch them in the face (and herald could take the place of zada, it comes out a turn sooner, has a decent toughness for blocking, and makes colorless spells cheaper, so brutal expulsion, touch of void, etc)

@HeartOfGold, did you make the deck on tappedout ? if so I would love to take a look at it and see what would be the best suggestions, either way I would probably suggest playing Spell Shrivel and Roast with Tears of Valakut in side. Horribly Awry and Disdainful Stroke might also work well. Basically what you would want to do is play a couple of creatures and then keep the board clean, so you should try to find answers against spells cast starting from t3. You could also sideboard Radiant Flames and have your creatures survive through prowess. if you're willing to splash white Jeskai Ascendancy can help your creatures set up a good defense.

Aric_Haldan I haven't put it up here. I'm going revising it as we speak with a couple new cards. PM/friend me and I'll send you a list and results after tonight.

Gift of Tusks really messes with Stormchaser Mage. If their ground board is strong, there's no point having it there. Idk it's iffy imo and I don't think is really worth the slot. Also, in sideboard, Kozilek's Return is better than Radiant Flames against mirror match because it's an instant. Trigger your own dudes prowess when the opponent attacks and wipe their board.

Jiedre First, I agree Kozilek's Return is better because of the instant speed, just haven't added it in because I do want to keep this list looking budget for players looking for an izzet aggro deck. Also, with gift of tusks, you wait to cast it until blockers have been declared. This way it doesn't mess up any of your evasion

Glyax Oh, whoops! Didn't see the budget tag. My bad! Oh, I didn't know about that. Interesting. Well, great deck, then!

+1 from me, looks like it'd be able to end games before most decks even get started.

Alright, had someone else pilot it tonight, and I piloted my super secret deck :p, played against this deck on my final match, both my decks were playing for second ha-ha (I beat this one, because the guy piloting it misplayed, otherwise it would have crushed me)

This is what Standard should be. A fun deck that you can take to FNM for under $100. No adjustments needed. Great deck

Bgtw2001Thanks! I really wanted to make a deck anyone could pick up, and after a little practice, play competitively against those 400+ dollar decks at fnm. Standard shouldn't be about who has the most expensive cards lol

I played this deck (basically, substituted a few cards in the sideboard) last night and went 3-1. The only deck I lost to was 4 color rally, and mostly because I had to mull to 5 game one, and he kept bouncing cards with reflector mage game 2.
Great deck! Reminds me of the budget Heroic decks I played last year.

yeah land destroy is fun, Crumble to Dust right ? too bad it doesn't really work on fetches though, which are the most important.
January 30, 2016 1:45 p.m.
It doesn't need to work on fetches tho. You can just exile the new dual lands and in the process peek at their hand cards and deck. In the 2nd or 3rd games you can also see their sideboard plan. Taking the dual lands from something like a Jeskai black deck really crushes their deck, because it really relies on getting the color fixes.

Yeah, the ability to see a players hand, and library, as well as disrupt their mana base, is extremely useful for playing out the game

cool, I hadn't thought about it that way yet, I often wondered how well it would work and then decided against using it, but I guess that if you play a very disruptive deck, it might really be worth it

Aric_Haldan I removed the posts, we are past the point of people just saying, oh, get rid of this card, it's bad...either explain your thought process, or move on.

Glyax I saw that deck before. It's pretty sweet but way out of my budget. I was trying to look for ways that were sort of mid-budget to increase this ones effectiveness. Just ideas, nothing more :)
