I would run a few Fabled Hero and Aqueous Form s. And If you aren't too interested in keeping it theros/botg , throw in a few Ethereal Armor .

Addendum; I have a feeling that against decks which you will need board wipes, you'll never hit 7 mana anyway. Consider alternatives such as Merciless Eviction

oops I meant Supreme Verdict

Thank you for the suggestions! I really like having decks with cards all from the same block, and I completely see what you mean. When in competitive play (if i ever decide this deck should see it), I'll most likely switch out my Fated Retribution with some Supreme Verdict . Aqueous Form is a card that I'm looking through my cards for a playset of!

I don't know how I feel about Venser, the Sojourner in a Daxos deck. Even if he's there to give Daxos unblockable, there are better choices like Thassa, God of the Sea or Steel of the Godhead . And since you're wanting to hit people with Daxos, why not run Bident of Thassa to let you draw cards from your deck at the same time?

All in all, it looks like a good start to a nasty Daxos deck. Good luck!

I do like the control elements of this deck. Put all the swords in the deck if you have access to them as well as some other equipment to boost his power/toughness. Also, Sunbond works really well on Daxos, as it combos with his ability.

Thanks so much! Yeah, Venser is really only here to bounce around some of my enchantments that hold things back, like Detention Sphere . For example, my opponent played Xenagos, God of Revels who is indestructible, so to adapt, I bounced my sphere from a Kalonian Hydra an onto Xenagos so that I could Supreme Verdict present threats. Other than that, Venser is my favorite walker haha so it's more of a preference. Thassa, God of the Sea is awesome and would work perfectly, but I don't think she's worth the money at the moment, with Daxos having a small amount of stock evasion. Steel of the Godhead is definitely on the grocery list

jineur I apologize, but what combo would you be meaning?

When Daxos of Meletis deals combat damage, you exile the top card of that player's library and gain life equal to its converted mana cost, so if you have Sunbond enchanted on Daxos when you gain life, Daxos gets that many +1/+1 counters.

Wow, I completely forgot about the converted mana cost part, I apologize! And yes, I do like how Sunbond works with him! Good catch.

Glad to see someone else playing Daxos as a commander.

I have had Daxos EDH for about 5 months, since came out in Theros. My experience with him say that I should not rely just on him. I don't know your meta, but at least in my, there are so many ways how they are able to get rid of Daxos, that I have to have some backup plan in case that Daxos is out of my calculations.

You may take a look at my build Welcome to the Daxos's World, maybe you'll get there some inspiration and maybe you'll wind there something that could be done better.

So, as I said, think what will be your backup plan, so it won't be just about if they get rid of Daxos or not. The deck should be working in every situation.

Wish you good luck with the deck.

I appreciate it! I see what you mean, I really try to hold off on swinging Daxos until I can protect him or I'm confident about his presence on the board.

What's with all the green cards? Bant Charm , Simic Charm , Selesnya Charm , Simic Keyrune , Kiora, the Crashing Wave , Alpha Authority , Shield of the Oversoul , and Unflinching Courage are all illegal in a Daxos deck.

I'm going to be transitioning into a Rafiq of the Many deck instead, and I was brain storming and too lazy to put things back the way they should haha, I'm sorry for the confusion.

Roon stomps face pretty bad...I put together a Roon deck for my friend from the structure deck mixed with extra cards he and I had...its got about a 97% win rate

I feel like your creature base isn't focused enough on those ETB effects. some creatures to consider are Captain of the Watch , Thragtusk , Archaeomancer , Sylvan Primordial , Prophet of Kruphix (just cause her effects are absolutely amazing) and maybe Trostani's Summoner just because if you are bouncing her, tokens for days. Trostani, Selesnya's Voice gives good life gain too if you are able to bounce enough.

Cloudshift is a great way to both keep your creatures safe from target spells, and abuse some more of the ETB effects. Ghostly Flicker is a good one to think about as well.

What do you think should come out? I have a lot of removal, but I don't know how much I really need.

Argentum Armor -its good, but with its high equip cost and the fact that ideally your guys are flickering left and right, makes its less useful.

Aerie Mystics - good effect, not so much for this deck. They go to kill a creature, bounce it with Roon

Stonehewer Giant even if you kept the Argentum Armor , you have very few artifacts that actually equip.

Blazing Archon the protection from creatures it gives you is nice, but its high mana cost is insane. far too much in my opinion, especially with all the removal you got going for you.

Steelshaper's Gift same as the stonehewer. I think these would be a better fit for the other commander you were looking at.

Silver Myr mana fixing is good and all... but I don't like this guy for it.

One thing I forgot, and I can't believe that i did, was to get Sundial of the Infinite . Taps and end the turn. How this works is you use Roon to bounce their creature on your turn. during the end phase, when the stack starts to return the creature, end the turn with the sundial, exiling their creature permanently. It is amazing for this deck, and i can't tell you how many times I have pissed off my friends with that. Its rather funny.

teslamon says... #21

he can keep the Blazing Archon with its high mana cost if he uses creatures with ETB effects that grab land like Pilgrim's Eye , Borderland Ranger , or Solemn Simulacrum just to name a few...this also lets Angel of Serenity be a very real thing

Awesome suggestions. Things like Stonehewer Giant and Steelshaper's Gift are mainly for when I switch the commander to Rafiq of the Many down the road, but they should definitely come out for now. I have a few things coming in the mail (Sundial of the Infinite , Deadeye Navigator , Stonehorn Dignitary , Sunblast Angel and Illusionist's Bracers to try to target more things with Roon).

Stonehorn Dignitary and Deadeye Navigator are going to become your best friends in a Roon deck...especially if you happen to play a one on one match

other creatures with bounce shenanigans are Diluvian Primordial and Jace's Mindseeker
