Updating Feather to try to compete in the modern world post MH2. After the Lurrus ban I've been lost in the drift, so I'm going to return back to the well to see if I can get Feather to a point where it's fun to use in the brave new world.

Initial changes from mk.4:

MAINBOARD:

-1x Sheltering Light, -1x Sentinel's Eyes, -1x Dreadhorde Arcanist, -2x Tenth District Legionnaire, +1x Gods Willing, +4x Ragavan, Nimble Pilferer

My 4th attempt at Feather now that I'm older, wiser.

Tenth District Legionnaire may cost too much mana at 2 (as opposed to running 4 Lagonna Band Trailblazers at 1), but it's such a fun card and it does so much that I can't leave it out.

MAINBOARD UPDATES 1: -1x Feather, the Redeemed -1x Sunbaked Canyon -2x Lagonna-Band Trailblazer -1x Sheltering Light

+3x Monastary Swiftspear +2x Boros Charm

Trying to go a little faster with a tiny bit more protection. Lagonna-Band Trailblazer is better for Amulet Titan and Death Shadow matchups, but I don't have too many of those in my meta, so I want to try the Swiftspears.

SIDEBOARD UPDATES 1: -2x Surgical Extraction -2x Kor Firewalker -1x Kataki, War's Wage

+3x Leyline of Sanctity +2x Tormod's Crypt

Surgicals felt underwhelming. In most graveyard matchups, I think I'd prefer all yards exiled. However I'm going to try Tormod's Crypt first as 2 Mana to not moving forward hurts this deck a lot. Perhaps try to squeeze in 3x Leyline of the Void, but the sideboard is strapped as is. Leyline of Sanctity will affect Burn in a similar way to the Firemancers, but will also shut off Thoughtseize and other targeted spells. Going to experiment with these changes. Stony Silence may still be preferable to Suppression Field.

MAINBOARD UPDATES 2: -1x Giver of Runes

+1x Monastery Swiftspear

Minor change to go slightly faster

SIDEBOARD UPDATES 2: -2x Tormod's Crypt -1x Smash to Smithereens -1x Shattering Spree

+2x Rest in Peace +2x Wear / Tear

Added some enchantment removal and changed yard hate to RIPs.

MAINBOARD UPDATES 3: -1x Sacred Foundry

+1x Flooded Strand

Minor land optimization.

SIDEBOARD UPDATES 3: -2x Suppression Field

+2x Hushbringer

I'm going to test this change in response to bans. Hushbringer hits a ton of decks including Kiki-combo, Titan, Prowess (through Reveler), and a lifelinker for Burn and I'm not sure what Planeswalkers/artifacts will be played to justify Suppression Field over it.

MAINBOARD UPDATES 4: -1x Feather, the Redeemed +1x Sentinel's Eyes

Sentinel's Eyes is a card that can provide life defense (due to Vigilance) and will probably provide more value than Feather in most games. This change is extremely experimental and I would be open to changing 1x Defiant Strike for it as opposed to 1x Feather, the Redeemed

SIDEBOARD UPDATES 4: -3x Leyline of Sanctity -2x Wear/Tear -2x Hushbringer -2x Rest in Peace

+3x Aegis of the Gods +2x Rip Apart +2x Strict Proctor +2x Wheel of Sun and Moon

Adjusting my sideboard to better suit my needs. I believe Aegis of the Gods will be more useful than Leyline in the long run. Rip Apart is a more versatile (although sorcery speed) Wear/Tear. Strict Proctor and Wheel of Sun and Moon allow for hate against Mill (which wasn't a deck to be concerned about last time I updated this deck) without losing much effectiveness elsewhere besides the Burn matchup (losing Lifelink and T1 burn hate hurts).

Clever Lumimancer is an interesting card that may be a valuable addition, replacing some combination of Monastery Swiftspear and Tenth District Legionnaire. Losing haste is a big downside, but +2/+2 for each spell is huge when Feathering/Dreadhording off.

Mutagenic Growth may potentially be added to avoid Bolt removal as a free spell.

I think Blessed Alliance could have a place somewhere, but I can't figure out where as of yet.
