Feather, the Redeemed

Feather was a member of the Boros guild and was cast down from the sisterhood of angels for an unknown reason during the events Ravnica: City of Guilds. She worked alongside the Boros foot soldiers with her wings bound for a time until she carried out her punishment and was released. She briefly became the leader of the Boros guild before being challenged by Aurelia who claimed that no angel who had been disgraced should ever lead. With Aurelia garnering a lot of support, Feather was usurped and imprisoned. She later escaped this imprisonment with the incidental help from Krenko and is now free fighting for her plane.

Abusing ETB

Be it Ramp, Removal or card draw, there are plenty of strong ETB-Effects out there. Flicking a creature with an ETB-Trigger to abuse it is a well-known method to gain card advantage. Feather, the Redeemer with some instants as support does this repeatedly and at instant speed.

Protection

These spells not only let us abuse the ETB-Triggers this deck is filled with, but can also protect our creatures at the same time. The spells allowing us to flick creatures are divided into two categories. Some of them will return the creature immediately and only protect them from spot removals. The others will return them in the next end step, protecting them from boardwipes but leaving us with no blockers.

End of turn

Mass Flicker

Eerie Interlude can protect our entire board and trigger a lot of ETB-Effects. We can achieve a similar scenario by flicking Lumbering Battlement to exile all our creatures. Targeting it a second time with a single flicking spell will release the exiled creatures and ETB-Triggers.

Protecting important permanents

All the flicking spells can only target creatures, triggering Feather’s ability but leaving important permanents like Sunforger or Panharmonicon open for removals. Noncreature permanents can be protected by flicking a creature that can exile and return a permanent.

Tokens are a subtheme of this deck and can be generated by casting instants and sorceries or flicking a creature to trigger its ETB-Effect.

Cantrips

Since Feather allows us to use sorcery and instant spells over and over again as long as they target a creature we control, each of these spells draws us a card for one mana and helps this deck to run smoothly.

Drawing Cards

Acrobatic Maneuver not only flickers a creature, but also draws us a Card every time it is used to trigger an ETB-Effect. Flicking Wall of Omens will draw us an additional card each time.

This deck is generating a lot of tokens, which are good targets for Skullclamp .

Fists of Flame works perfectly in this deck, since we are drawing a lot of cards with the ETB-Triggers and cantrips.

Stealing Creatures

Targeting Akroan Conscriptor with an instant or sorcery or flicking Zealous Conscripts puts a creature under our control until end of turn.

Powerful and cheap removals like Path to Exile , Swords to Plowshares and Generous Gift are tied to an effect, that gives our oponent something in return. Stealing a creature temporary before removing it will turn the drawback into value, since the creature is under our control. Feather's ability will Trigger at the same time and makes these removals even more powerful in this deck. Path to Exile will turn into a spell that exiles a creature and lets us ramp at the same time for . Another way to get rid of an opponents creature is to flick it. Flicking a temporary stolen creature will put it back under our control permanently.
