Hey I really like the deck. Some cards that might fit your maybeboard include; Hex Recurring Insight Control Magic Tidings Concentrate . I'm not sure whether there's a combo with Mindcrank and I and don't think Sadistic Sacrament is all that effective when people have 100 cards. +1 from me. Peace.

Thanks Rofelos for your time, up-vote, and commentary. Sadistic Sacrament , while not completely useful in most EDH decks, is an effective tool against certain people in my playgroups (there's a Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind player amongst us). I'll try and drop it for something; namely one of the cards you suggested. As for the Mindcrank , it goes on an infinite loop when paired with an active Bloodchief Ascension when triggered; from there, asimple tutor and cast = win. It could liekly be replaced in the future. Thanks again!

and also, how do you get the full arts on here?

Thank you for the comment and up-vote!

When you go to enter the cards, you can specify what printing. For these full arts, you enter Zendikar lands. To do that, enter:

1x Island [ZEN]

Have you thought about running Treachery over Control Magic ? It's one mana more, but if it resolves it's a free spell

I'd also recommend Ancient Tomb over Temple of the False God

+1 from me!

I think Bloodchief Ascension is best paired with red, because of cards like Staggershock and Volt Charge , but it is fun to combo it with Mindcrank . Sanguine Bond and Exquisite Blood is another ridiculous "infinite" combo.

Anyways, I really like the Deadeye Navigator pairing with Palinchron you have here, and with Riptide Laboratory . Tolaria West is an option to tutor for other lands or your chalice. Echoing Truth seems like a pretty obvious control card to include, since it could effectively wipe out token aggro decks. Crypt Ghast doesn't seem like it would be that useful for you with only 7 swamps. Sudden Spoiling would be really good with Massacre Wurm or Marsh Casualties or the like. I personally prefer to run more creatures than spells because I can almost always find a creature that can do the same trick, and it sticks around to attack and block.

I've considered using Oona as a commander, but I play around with mill so much that I decided to try Merieke Ri Berit . I really like your style and would appreciate any general feedback you have for my EDH deck Merieke EDH control since I've never played that format before.

Dungeon Geists I feel like are really good. tap down a threat and they swing for the magic 3 with evasion

With Sygg, River Cutthroat as your commander, what do you think of Shrieking Affliction ?

Also, I stumbled upon Wound Reflection , at it seems to give some reach while pushing opponents against each other.

And since I know you are aiming to put Oona, Queen of the Fae as commander when you get her, I recommend Painter's Servant , Oona's Blackguard , Stinkdrinker Bandit , and Maze Abomination .

Oh and can you give me your opinion on I Can Count To Infinity?

Thank you all for the comments guys!

@alexsmith21 Ancient Tomb and Treachery are terrific suggestions, unavailable to me at the moment. I'll definitely keep those in mind as I prowl for updates.

@gemmerich Tolaria West is a much needed land tutor, and I totally forgot about it. Thanks for looking through the maybe board and talking me though those choices. I'll definitely return the favor on your Merieke Ri Berit deck.

@MonkeyDerp I feel like Dungeon Geists would lack the impact I'm seeking.

@mstancea I'm trying to avoid situational effects like Shrieking Affliction . Wound Reflection doesn't hold everything my deck is trying to do (but my Rakdos deck is happy that your reminded me of that card). Also, Painter's Servant , the love of my life, is banned in commander. Oona's Blackguard is nice, Stinkdrinker Bandit is alright, and I think Maze Abomination is just too weak. Expect to see a comment on I Can Count To Infinity soon, bro.

Thanks again everyone! Your feedback is more than invaluable to me.

That's the nice thing about you and your commander decks, sometimes other decks like my suggestions when theyre not exactly what the deck I'm commenting on needs. lol.

Forgot about the Painter's Servant 's banning, although I don't see the big deal about it... It's neat, but nothing game-breaking! Right?

About Maze Abomination , it would turn your 1/1 fliers into 1/1 flying deathtouchers, which will definitely hinder some attacks...

Good luck, I'm Totally Lost in building that deck. :(

Well. The servant combos with everything... Iona, Shield of Emeria , Pentarch Paladin , Grindstone , Circle of Protection: White , and so on. But, there are cards like Palinchron (ya know, combo monsters) that are still legal.

MagicalHacker says... #14

Iona, Shield of Emeria is definitely a big reason. Since it could be a commander, the servant is a two mana spell that prevents everyone from playing spells. Imagine if Knowledge Pool was a legendary creature, Rule of Law would be banned too.

What do you guys think of Twincast ?

I don't know if it's worth it to you, but Mind Bomb is hilarious with Sygg. It's basically "U: Each player takes three, draw a card."

+1, can you offer any advice for my Karador deck? Karador, ETB Chieftain

July 10, 2013 1:30 p.m.

Octrate says... #17

Mind Bomb could be rather interesting. I appreciate the cheap mana cost too. I'll test it. As for your Karador deck, I'll provide some of my input.

Psychosis Crawler works well in decks that rely on drawing.

For another win condition, Bloodchief Ascension and Mindcrank auto kill everyone but you. With the amount of tutors you're running, that shouldn't be a difficult combo to pull off. Especially since Sygg requires life loss anyway.

Dash Hopes for either a counterspell or a free card (and a nice set of 5 life)

Crystal Ball and Halimar Depths for draw manipulation. Sensei's Divining Top is irritatingly effective, but you've only got one, and you have more useful things to tutor for, like win conditions.

Cards I would cut:

I'm not a huge fan of Evolving Wilds and Terramorphic Expanse in two-color, but those are preferences.

If you want to go the combo route, you can drop some of the goodstuff cards because they'll be less relevant. Otherwise, the deck seems like it's in a good place.

Cards you should consider:

There are other transmute cards as well, but it's up to you whether they're relevant. I recommended two that can function as the printed card or as a tutor.

The combo route works, but I found the tempo-ish feel for the deck to be more my speed with it.

I agree with your drops, however Oboro, Palace in the Clouds is a card I'd like to keep. This is because Armageddon effects are a rampant disease in my meta; having the ability to save at least one land is a huge benefit for me. The Evolving Wilds and Terramorphic Expanse are not ideal; but they're all I can afford right now in terms of fetchland.

I totally forgot about Creeping Tar Pit . While the coming into play tapped is a bit of a hindrance you raise a good point that it could be very strong with Sygg. Tolaria West could be useful (especially to grab the Pact of Negation ), but I am concerned on its speed. I will certainly test these ideas. Muddle the Mixture and Diabolic Intent each warrant a test as well.

Thanks for the ideas and the help, Epoch!

What are your thoughts on Perplex ?

December 3, 2013 12:18 a.m.

I'm not a huge fan of Perplex because it isn't a hard counterspell when you really need it to be.

December 3, 2013 12:19 a.m.

MagicalHacker says... #23

WHY CAN'T I HOLD ALL THESE ANSWERS?: Discard 7 or more non-lands in a turn and win that game.

THERE SHOULD BE A "CAPTAIN" SOMEWHERE IN THERE: Draw a card with Sygg, River Cutthroat on your turn, each opponent's turn, and your turn again all in a row in a free-for-all game.

SUPERFRIENDS: Control 4 or more planeswalkers at the same time.

BECAUSE I CAN: Win a free-for-all of four or more players total, with the last player to die playing...
