And thanks for the Kami of the Crescent Moon idea. I was needing to make an EDH deck.

I love forcefeed decks. They're so fun to play lol. I would +1 again if I could

Nice Deck. What's your answer for the legendary Eldrazi?

Wish it didn't exist? Nah... but they really kill this deck since #1 I can't Beast Within two of them and #2 I use so few permanents so the Annihilator would kill me. My only options would be to try to sacrifice what I don't absolutely need and hope to topdeck a Mindslaver or try to Cyclonic Rift and stall (which would give them more extra turns in the process.) I'm not sure, really.

I would say Sturmgeist and Horizon Chimera maybe, and perhaps an Omniscience as a panic button.

A couple really great cards would be Elixir of Immortality and Beacon of Immortality. Would allow you to draw all the cards you want and never deck out. While gaining a buttload of life. Fun deck. +1

Thanks for the suggestion and upvote. The problem with Beacon of Immortality is obviously that it's white. Although it"s a possible alternative way to build the deck, I'm not one to splash an entire color just for one card. As for Elixir of Immortality, I just don't think it's worth an entire slot in the deck. I am rarely in danger of milling myself out, since the game always ends right when I draw Forced Fruition and Mindslaver. I'll definitely put more thought into it, though.

It's ok. Adding white may be a valid option because it would give me access to life gain and more Fog effects. It will just add more required dual lands which will raise the price of the deck, and it's already too much. From playtesting, though, I'm starting to get really fed up with AEtherize because a lot of times I have Heartbeat of Spring out and they can just play them all again on postcombat main phase. So I'm actually really considering adding white.

AEtherspouts is a really annoying bounce spell to ramp, aggro, token, and almost all other decks,

Howling Mine is a good way to make people draw without giving them any other bonuses (like being able to drop extra land). Sorin Markov would also help with his last ability.

Price of Knowledge could be fun too. If you can't get them to deck themselves from draw, then they can just gouge their own eyes out from having such a huge hand.

I would love to run Price of Knowledge, but it isn't Modern legal. I went with Rites of Flourishing instead of Howling Mine because I need mana to combo off. I don't know about Sorin Markov. I never really thought about using him. I may replace Mindslaver with him. It depends on which one would be better for me.

Dictate of Kruphix is pretty sweet, as well as... Remand and Arcane Denial; which are good for keeping cards in yours and your opponents' hands.

Oh I think I have a perfect one for you, how about Jace's Archivist so that when your opponent has like 18 cards in their hand from playing their stuff you can make that another 18 down the drain. (:
I know that you decided on rites of flourishing but you could also go for Font of Mythos
Probably you will not want this guy but Fate Unraveler
Or how about Waste Not

I think that a white splash is better; Supreme Verdict, Path to Exile, Idyllic Tutor and plenty of white fogs make it superior. Plus white has the best sideboard options.

This deck is completely unique for the modern format and I can always appreciate a good home-brew. I understand you need Fog and Darkness for your creature-based match ups but I was curious what you do vs a control deck or combo-styled deck like Scapeshift? I think with the fogs and Damnation playset you can handle creatures fairly well and should try adding some main deck counter spells to protect your pieces and prevent or delay combos like Negate or Remand (if you have remands/can afford them). I'd try side boarding a few fog effects so you still have them available when you do play vs infect, affinity for artifacts, and other creature-based decks while giving you mainboard spots for counter magic. Have you tested this at all at a local card shop or modern FNM? I'm just curious how your match-ups have been and what has been favorable and unfavorable for your deck.

First of all, pay no attention to the sideboard I have listed. It's old and out of date. I've never thought of putting Fogs on the sideboard. I've gotten the deck pretty close to being able to start fogging turn 3 and keep a continuous Fog going until I get my wincon. I'll try testing it with a few counters. And this deck really dies to control and burn. But it beats anything that depends on combat damage.

This deck is hilarious and right up my alley. I'm going to work on making an EDH version of it today. You may want to add some basics and mainboard ways of dealing with both Magus of the Moon and Blood Moon (outside of Swan Song) because if either of those stick, with the increased odds from the draw effects, then you are toast.

Yeah I know something should be done about the Blood Moons and things like that. It's been a great while since I've looked at this deck seriously. I feel like putting some Natural States in the sideboard and a few basics in the main should do the trick.

Interesting... I've never thought of that card for some reason. Maybe an alternate wincon? Or maybe a less annoying way to win than Elixir of Immortality?
infinitelennies says... #1
Yeah. I haven't ever thought of running Tron lands. I may look into it. And Heartbeat of Spring and Rites of Flourishing are both combo pieces ( sort of), so it would slightly mess some things up to take them out.
