Awesome job! This looks like a really solid list, especially if you're just getting into standard. Wasteland Strangler is amazing, and should be appreciated with lists like this. I'm not even sure how this would fit in, but I like Stratus Dancer a lot out of the sideboard.

+1 from me! Love the list

TobyG Toby u should play Secure the Wastes for the late game. Maybe for sideboard. I playtested it and it's always super fun but 3 I kepted top decking lands... when you had like 6 which could be 5 1/1 warriors. Just an idea...

I was playing it, but I decided I would rather play more Stasis Snares. They make Wasteland Strangler mor efficient, and they deal with the large threats that I was having trouble with

Maybe as a 2 of because I keep play testing it- also you could play 1 less land or something...

I think you are just getting unlucky, I am playing 24 land which if anything is too few.

Chestnut27 I am considering cutting blue from the deck altogether so now might not be a good time for adding more blue to the side. I will consider it if I decide to keep blue. But thanks for the comment and up vote.

TobyG I would advise keeping the blue, due to the fact of Painful Truths. ob nixilis won't give enough card advantage. Plus Ojutai's Command gives you great options and returning creatures late is awesome.

What I was thinking is cutting ojutai's command and painful truths for Gideon and read the bones, which is almost as good because in the 3 cards of painful truths there will likely be one that I could scry to the bottom. I want to add Gideon but I don't know what to cut except ojutai's command.

TobyG ya that makes sense. Seems like your turning this into the W/B control list, which is a sweet list. Good luck at your next FNMs.

TobyG Toby do you think you have enough creatures that in the late game a rally the ancestors would be any good? Wasteland strangler might even get more triggers...

TobyG says... #13

Rally would exile all the creatures without them even attacking

I read what happened at your first FNM. I'm almost certain your nitpicky rules guy pulled an illegal move. In that event, you call over the tournament overseer. While it causes miniscule problems for you to draw before untapping, that is resolved by them enforcing that you not perform any actions that would normally be impossible. His action effectively broke several game rules, using an effect for free from a spell not in Standard.

NotSquishedYet oh really? Thanks, next time he tries to pull some weird rule stunt I'll make sure I look into it more.

I play against newer players and even more experienced players that forget to untap before their draw once in awhile, hell, even I've done it once or twicet. That was an illegal move and that guy used you being new to FNM to cheat, really. Anyway, the deck looks awesome. WB anything is in a really good position right now. I do have to suggest more Planar Outburst, Sorin and Read the Bones, though. Kudos!

Thanks ddutch. I am trying to hold off on KTK/FRF cards, so I traded my Sorins for Gideon. I don't like Planar Outburst because it ends up only having like one or maybe two targets because of the amount of removal I play, and it hoses Gideon tokens and prevents my wingmate raid trigger. The reason I don't include more Read the Bones is a meta choice. My meta is pretty much all aggro, and so I don't want to lose to much life.

Well if the meta is mostly aggro, then you have a point. They're good sideboard tech for tokens and Eldrazi, though.

How about the new Sorin?

For the time being, Wingmate Roc is filling his role. But once rotation comes, I think I am going to put him in as a 2 of.

Personally I think there is to many planeswalkers lol. I would run 4 stasis snares. 4 declaration in stone. I run 3 transgress in my deck. You could run 4 thought-knot seers because they exile stuff also. You could run some Eldrazi displacer to combo with wasteland strangler also. But I do like your deck trust me:) black white control is fun, and exile stuff all day is a lot of fun!Check out my deck:) I went to 2 Fnm with this deck and both times I went 3-1. I also got 3rd place the second time:)

I like having a lot of planeswalkers, but I am broke and don't have all the Gideons, whereas I do have 2 thought knot seers that I am playing in gideon's place. The reason I am trying to lay off stasis snare is because with Bant company running 4 dromoka's command, enchantment removal is dangerous. I want more declaration in stones, but I can't afford them for the time being, and no one at my lgs wants to trade them or archangel of tithes due to the white decks everyone is making. I don't think I have enough etb to justify eldrazi displacer. But thanks for the suggestions and the up vote.
