Manbeast75 I like that idea! I think I'll bring in Battlefield Thaumaturge for Hypnotic Siren vs control. I also added a few Phyrexian Revoker if I hit anything unforeseen.

Izzet Staticaster has no combo with Polymorphist's Jest because the original names of all creatures you jest stay the same. The creature type changes because of the jest.

To get around creatures with counters you could even use Unsummon to bounce counters off heriocs and slow hydras down. Or at the least sideboard it.

Unsummon unfortunately is not standard legal anymore, so it can't go into the deck. But something I just thought of, Peel from Reality using an Ornithopter as your bounced creature could help deal with counters or fatties you're having a particularly rough time with

Tukurai Good point about Izzet Staticaster . I always assumed their names would be "Frog" but that is just their type.
Akhos and Manbeast75 Returning a creature with counters to my opponents hand is way cheaper and more reliable that combo-ing Curse of the Swine + Lightning Strike . It looks like my post-rotation standard options are Peel from Reality and Void Snare . What do you suggest? Peel gives me instant speed but for one more colorless mana and losing a creature if Ornithopter isn't out. Void Snare is cheaper, I don't lose a creature, but it is a sorcery. Hmmm....

ChickenMonkeyDuck you're right! Unintended side effect!
August 21, 2014 7:48 p.m.
My bad I wasnt thinking standard. Hmm that's a tough choice I would say Peel from Reality you could use it at faster speed and you have creatures that could be nicer from being bounced too. Like if you were to lay Hypnotic Siren early you could bring it back for its bestow and so on

You should think about using the update feature to clear the comment clutter.
Hexproof counters your spot removal of Turn to Frog + Spark Jolt .

Playtesting your deck vs my Artifact Izzet Rush Deck and I found that Soul of New Phyrexia can easly counter your turn stuff into frog and kill it by using its ability in response to your Turn to Frog

Bravo sir!! You have just made my day with this deck! I absolutely love it and it looks like a lot of fun to play. You have combined two deck ideas I was thinking about, into one great deck. +1 from me!!

Thats a nice deck built around Polymorphist's Jest . I also have a deck like that but its for modern and its black/blue. If you wanna check it out heres the link Death at Once

problem with what Deathwish47 says is that if you use Soul of New Phyrexia 's ability in response to it or any other creature being turned into a frog they all STILL loose all abilities which includes the indestructible that Soul of New Phyrexia would give them. And then if you waited to give indestructible after the "turn to frog" effect resolves if they target your Soul of New Phyrexia you loose the chance to make anything indestructible since he would loose that ability. Basically... Soul of New Phyrexia has no counter powers to this deck... he is actually a fairly expensive way to waste your mana vs this deck.
lets put a situation out shall we:
say P1 with Soul of New Phyrexia is playing and has 4x Stormtide Leviathan out. Pretty ridiculous i know but...
Then say P2 playing this deck casts either Polymorphist's Jest or targets Soul of New Phyrexia with Turn to Frog
two ways this can happen:
FIRST: in response P1 activates Soul of New Phyrexia 's ability in response and puts it on top of the stack above P2's spell. P1's permanents gain indestructible.
P2's spell resolves and removes all abilities including Indestructible from either all P1's creatures or just Soul of New Phyrexia if he was targeted with Turn to Frog . At which point Scouring Sands will easily kill any newly polymorphed frogs.
SECOND P1 does not activate Soul of New Phyrexia 's ability in response and decides to wait... well Soul of New Phyrexia then looses the ability to make anything indestructible and becomes and frog himself if either spell was cast by P2.
Either way unless you have a counter in there or some form of hexproof to go along with Soul of New Phyrexia you wont get very far with your gloriuos 4x 1/1 Stormtide Leviathan frogs. Even if activate Soul of New Phyrexia from the graveyard you still have to deal with the stack. Even if you activate Soul of New Phyrexia 's ability every players turn before anything else is done this deck still pounds him into the graveyard every time, as a shameful frog non-the-less.
Great deck! +1 from me and.... I WANT ONE!!!!

Deathwish47 and Orvos101 Awesome discussion on Soul of New Phyrexia ! Orvos101 covered his first ability very well! The deck has no need to worry about "5: Permanents you control gain indestructible until end of turn."
Let's take a look at the second ability "5, Exile Soul of New Phyrexia from your graveyard: Permanents you control gain indestructible until end of turn." The deck actually stands up to this power as well. Let's look at the stack...
- All opponents creatures gain indestructible
- Creature(s) lose all abilities including indestructible with the frog cards
- Burn kills the creatures(s) because indestructible has been lost
I think the stack order has Soul of New Phyrexia beat. Let me know if I'm wrong, but I think we got the card pimp slapped!

Valehaun Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoy the deck! Izzet and artifacts became very powerful after M15. This deck has combined evasion, removal, and direct damage. This used to be black's game plan, but here comes Izzet with the new skewl!

UnknownDemon Thanks man! My original idea was a black blue combo for the frog cards. Red just made so many combos possible that I had to go with it. However, with the triple lands coming out for Khans a blue/black/red combo could be in the future!

With the deck being how it is, I don't think instant speed is necessary. Hydras are the main worry as creatures with counters, and the only standard legal hydra with haste has blue protection. So the ones you can touch have to go through summoning sickness first, giving you the chance to bounce it on your turn with your sorcery.

cowboy_hippie Ask a magic judge. if you use the grave ability after the spell resolves, the frogs will be indestructible till end of turn.

Manbeast75 Outstanding research on the hydra threat! What should I take out of the sideboard for the Void Snare 's? Curse of the Swine + Lightning Strike could still be effective against heroic decks, so we might want to keep them in. However, heroic counter decks are slim in the meta because they can be easily out paced. Green with counters is super powerful, expensive, yet popular. Only one hydra's abilities are activated, so taking out Phyrexian Revoker is an option, but he does so well against the unknown. I never thought sideboard construction would be this tough... hmmmm.

Revoker is good universal help, and can help shut down superfriends, since that's gaining popularity with the M15 Chain Veil artifact, I wouldn't touch it. I would honestly drop everything to 3 of's, and add Void Snare. Maybe even 2 Thaumaturges and 4 Void Snare, since it responds pretty well to a good deal of various threats, while Thaumaturge responds uniquely to control, which is going to take a huge hit when RtR cycles

Deathwish47 This truly is one for the judges! Gnarly question for poor guy who gets to be judge every fnm! Any one who judges that can chime in who be super appreciated. I still don't understand how the gave ability would resolve after the frog cards due to how stacking order works, but I never have been a judge!

Manbeast75 I totally picture you as Yoda, dude! Your sagely advice is well taken. The sideboard looks totally solid now! Until Khans is released, I feel strong in all the sideboard options, Thanks man!

He is quite a strong card, especially for the white-blue I'm building. He makes strive costs so much fun! I think he's good for sideboard use, in case you're facing a control deck and want to try to keep mana cost down to try to draw out as many counters as you can.
