First congratulations on choosing green! I am a green enthusiast myself, if there is one card that I suggest for all midrange green decks it is Whisperwood Elemental he is far to good not to run. He will save you from boardwipes and will flood the board with creatures. Aside from that Hornet Queen, Genesis Hydra, Outland Colossus, Courser of Kruphix, and Polukranos, World Eater are great. Take a look at them and tell me what you think.

Great name for the deck. I don't play standard so i might not know what I'm talking about, but i think even at the FNM level you Want to be playing 60 cards, it just greatly improves your chances of seeing the cards you want when you want them.

I'm contemplating taking out 2 Forests, the Llanowar Empaths, the Orchard Spirits and one of the Reclaims to get it down to 60, with the possibility of taking out the Rhox Maulers and adding the Reclaim back in along with another Nissa, Vastwood Seer  Flip when I get her.

Now isn't a bad time to get into Green, it's been arguably the most potent color in Standard for a while and I don't imagine BFZ will change that too much. Your Hangarback idea is creative and I really like it.

You definitely want to drop down to 60 cards. Here's a few possible cuts:

  • Reclaim is kind of lousy recursion. It sets you back a turn.
  • Staff of the Wild Magus just... gains you life. That's not going to accomplish much of anything. If you cut anything, these should be it.
  • Nissa's Revelation is much too mana intensive for this list.
  • Zendikar's Roil feels too slow to me. By the time you hit five mana you should have better things to play; you're not likely to trigger it too many times.
  • Vine Snare will often just be an overcosted version of Fog. It's somewhat useful at least.

Thanks for the feedback on what to cut ComradeJim270

  • Reclaim is the only means I have in this deck to pull cards back from the graveyard and is pretty cheap for what I can do with it.

  • Staff of the Wild Magus Has done more than it's fair share in keeping me in the game for that extra turn

  • Nissa's Revelation isn't actually all that mana intensive at all, as I tend to have 5-6 mana available at the start of turn 4.

  • I completely agree with Zendikar's Roil and will be removing it.

  • Vine Snare may be an overcosted Fog but, as Fog isn't Standard legal, I'll take what I can get.

The question is whether your deck actually needs recursion. I'm not sure it does. The staff may keep you in an extra turn... but so does winning. Lifegain on its own is almost never good except against burn. Especially if you're spending to do it when you could be playing something much more useful. If you really need lifegain run Feed the Clan sideboard.

The reason I'd say to drop Vine Snare is that for just one more mana you could respond to a dicey situation by firing off Collected Company for more blockers, or more creatures after someone kills your dudes.

That's my take on things, the most important thing though is getting to 60 cards for consistency. Every card over 60 will weaken your deck.
