Let's make Phyrexian Obliterator fight so our opponent has to sacrifice their stuff!

-------------------------

Our goal is to get Phyrexian Obliterator onto the battlefield as quickly as possible, then use fight spells like Tail Swipe and Bushwhack to make our opponents have to sacrifice permanents whenever Phyrexian Obliterator takes damage from the fights!

The basic idea is there, but it's not quite enough and having a backup plan (or two) is always a good idea. So, let's also give all of our creatures deathtouch, throw in a Fynn, the Fangbearer to get some poison counters going, and we'll make sure that we have Diabolic Intent to tutor up the Phyrexian Obliterator (or whatever else we might need)! We need to have a certain density of creatures to be able to tutor with Diabolic Intent, keep the pressure on our opponent, and maybe get a bit of lifegain out of Gifted Aetherborn and Vampire of the Dire Moon.

-------------------------

Basically, we're trying to get some deathtouch creatures out, but we aren't going quite "all in" on the deathtouch idea. As a result, some of the best deathtouch creatures aren't in this deck because we really want to power out Phyrexian Obliterator and start fighting things to get our opponent to sacrifice permanents. Instead, we're trying to get some cheap creatures out that we don't mind sacrificing to Diabolic Intent to tutor out Phyrexian Obliterator or whatever else we may need. Hooded Blightfang and Fynn, the Fangbearer do help us advance the game in case we're not getting there with Phyrexian Obliterator, but most of the creatures are just sacrifice fodder.

-------------------------

Foulmire Knight is a card that gives us options. We can use it to draw a card, or we can play it as the 1/1 deathtouch creature. It's also great fodder for us to sacrifice to cast Diabolic Intent.

Fynn, the Fangbearer fits nicely in the 2-drop slot and allows us an alternative win condition through poison counters, and the larger 3-toughness butt helps it stick around. Most of our mana can also generate green mana, so we shouldn't have too many problems casting this.

Gifted Aetherborn is one of the best deathtouch creatures in the Pioneer format. It's cheap to cast, and it has deathouch AND lifelink, not to mention the 3-toughness butt! The 2 power is nice for the lifegain and I've won many games because of lifegain from a Gifted Aetherborn.

Hooded Blightfang is basically a payoff for playing deathtouch creatures. The incidental lifegain and drain is great, and the 4-toughness butt is even better.

Phyrexian Obliterator is the "big money payoff" of this deck. We want to use fight spells to make our opponents sacrifice permanents, hopefully bleeding them dry of all resources, then we start swinging to finish them off!

Vampire of the Dire Moon is another quality 1-drop fodder-creature for Diabolic Intent, and it manages to gain us some life if it sticks around.

The main axis of this deck is centered around the 12 fight spells in this deck! These spells can act as removal because all of our creatures (except Phyrexian Obliterator) have deathtouch, and if we use Phyrexian Obliterator we force our opponent to sacrifice permanents!

Importantly, we should keep in mind that Diabolic Intent lets us tutor ANY card in out deck-- land, fight spells, creatures, etc... So, even if we find ourselves without a fight spell, keep in mind that we can use Diabolic Intent to go get any piece of the puzzle we need, be it the fourth to cast Phyrexian Obliterator, a fight spell, or any creature (including Phyrexian Obliterator).

-------------------------

Bushwhack can help us stay on curve or act as a fight spell. This is a very useful card early game to keep us on curve if we don't draw land, and after to act as removal by using one of our deathtouch creatures to fight an opponent's creature, and (of course) to have Phyrexian Obliterator fight an opponent's creature and force them to sacrifice permanents.

Primal Might is another fight spell, but it allows us to pump a creature in case we might want this one to stick around after the fight! REMEMBER that you do NOT have to pay anything for if you don't want to! You can pay just to cast this spell and it will be a fight spell. The ability to pump a creature is OPTIONAL!!

Prizefight is a solid, instant-speed fight spell that also gets us a treasure token! So, it is effectively a 1-mana fight spell we cast at instant speed! This is actually a pretty good card and I'm surprised that it doesn't see more play in the Pioneer format.

Tail Swipe is a fight spell with modest (conditional) upside-- and an instant, which is not common for these fight spells! Works great! To be able to do this at instant speed is pretty nice.

We're playing 23 lands, and 6 of them are effectively mono-colored. Only one (Boseiju, Who Endures) doesn't produce , so we should be fine to get out our Phyrexian Obliterator. Early game, we might have a problem playing Fynn, the Fangbearer or a fight spell, but we should get through that relatively quickly. Remember, we can use Diabolic Tutor to get land cards from our deck if we're really stuck!

Otherwise, we have some creature lands in case we run into board wipes. Hive of the Eye Tyrant, Hissing Quagmire, and Restless Cottage give us some options.

We're basically trying to use our sideboard to dodge some of the biggest decks in the format. No, sorry, this isn't a sideboard guide. However, we can explore the choices for the sideboard and explain why some cards are here.

DISCLAIMER: Obviously, your meta may be different than from my meta, so adjust your sideboard as necessary.

-------------------------

Assassin's Trophy is a good "catch all" removal that we can use to target land (like Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx), enchantments (like Fable of the Mirror-Breaker   or Ossification), planeswalkers (like Karn, the Great Creator), creatures (like Cavalier of Thorns or Sheoldred, the Apocalypse), or even artifacts (like Mox Amber).   Damping Sphere helps against Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx and Lotus Field, so Mono-Green Nykthos decks, and Lotus Field decks.

Heroic Intervention is nice to help give our creatures hexproof and indestructible. This is particularly useful against Azorius Control, and (to a lesser extent) Rakdos Mid and Rakdos Sacrifice (they can't steal our creatures to sacrifice if they have hexproof).

Leyline of the Void is nice for Abzan Greasefang decks.

The End is just a good removal spell that can hit a variety of key cards, like Karn, the Great Creator in Mono-Green Nykthos.

Thoughtseize is another card against a variety of decks to disrupt combos, remove key creatures from hands, clear the way for a fight spell against control, etc...

Again, adjust this sideboard to your meta-- maybe there are other cards that make more sense in your meta.

-------------------------

I think you'll enjoy trying this deck! Other than some of the lands being expensive (looking at you, Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth and Boseiju, Who Endures), the deck is pretty affordable, and even Urborg and Boseiju aren't required (just nice to have).

We should be able to beat down our opponent with Phyrexian Obliterator, or by going aggro, drain their life with Hooded Blightfang, give them poison counters with Fynn, the Fangbearer, and/or deplete them of resources with fight spells and Phyrexian Obliterator. in other words, we should have multiple paths to victory!

Give it a try and let me know how it goes for you!
