Love it, +1 for sure. But why three Urborgs? They don't seem an absolute necessity and you have ways to get back lands if you lose them so it seems like it'd be a dead card too often

PrecintSix6Six, the three Urborgs are in the deck because I do have a good number of colourless lands, Ghost Quarter Twilight Mire , and I do have a heavy black requirement. I am considering cutting it back to two Urborgs and four Twilight Mire . I'm sure I'll figure out the correct number with more testing.

3x Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth is too many. (suggest you might want to play just 1 or 2)

3x Damnation Main board ??? (suggest you play 2 or 1, you might fine +1 Abrupt Decay to be better)

Im not sold on Bloodghast , how good are they?

Is Blood Scrivener a Dark Confidant replacement?I love the 1x Maelstrom Pulse

Not sure about 1x Melira, Sylvok Outcast , or the 2x Pithing Needle in the side board.

Nice list I kinda want to play it +1

Xuhle, the Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth are because I really need black but I think I'm going to drop one and add another Twilight Mire .

Damnation is necessary as I am playing at a control pace and I need to fight off aggro.

Bloodghast is only good because I have constant lands coming into play.

Dark Confidant kept killing me and I usually didn't have cards in hand anyway.

My sideboard is specifically for my meta which is much different from mainstream but since you asked Melira, Sylvok Outcast turns off the infect decks that don't have removal and Pithing Needle is for goblins. i. e. Krenko, Mob Boss

Sorry for the late reply, but I really do appreciate your comment.

Considering splashing blue for snapcaster, any suggestions?

Geth's Verdict is way better than devour, I know it can be hard to cast but it's 200% worth it.

diatryma believe me I agree with you completely, but the double black makes it super hard to cast in this deck. :(

Love this deck, I'm thinking about building something similar for my first crack at modern. What do you think of the inclusion of pack rat? It seems like he'd work great with all the value you could get from your graveyard while providing a threat aswell. Anyways good form :)

if you run Pack Rat , run Crucible of Worlds discard land and then put it into play each time :p

Clarkie454 Thank you I appreciate it. And Pack Rat would work well in this deck, if you have a slow meta. I left it out for more life gain cards cause of decks like delver and burn.

diatryma Crucible of Worlds would be really bad in this deck. Life from the Loam gives the effect I believe you are looking for, and Life from the Loam would work well with Pack Rat .

having to dredge for it unless you have effects that play things or gains things from the graveyard hurts you. it's a lovely idea in concept but if you dredge away cards you wanted you're kinda stuck.

I'm honestly not concerned about that and crucible puts lands into play not in your hand like life form the loam. Crucible can be destroyed loam can get countered but reoccurred.

Something tells me that Tasigur, the Golden Fang might be a good choice to include. You have plenty of mana to activate him, and with all of your discard and sacrifice effects you will have plenty to fuel his Delve cost.

Grem-Zealot I think I can consider him. What do you think I should cut?

Ryotenchi says... #15

I can def see why Tasigur, the Golden Fang is bad here.. However, nothing comes to mind for suggestions. :P Very nice list.

Omg I was just looking at all of the Zombie Infestation sitting around my house thinking "Whatever will I do with these?". Love this. Assault Loam is a great deck but it gets grindy quick. With this I can at least look at all my pretty creatures while I whittle them down.

I also like how getting both Squee with Infestation is a free zombie every turn. That's pretty funny.

kengiczar thank you! Put a lot of work into this, glad you like it, let me know if you build it.

Tasigur would do well in here.

April 11, 2015 3:45 p.m.

sirbar says... #21

Saljen you are not the first person say that. No tasigur is not good in this deck because I don't want to be removing many cards from my graveyard. I understand that some can be removed without loss but but enough to run tasigur. Also I don't need a random 4/5 that can't be recurred.

Cool deck the only thing I would change is replace the Commune with the Gods with Grisly Salvage

April 24, 2015 12:05 a.m.

sirbar says... #23

levrick Thank you it means a lot! :) As for the choice of Commune or salvage, I decided to go with Commune with the Gods because it allowed be to get Zombie Infestation. The deck runs much smother and faster with Zombie Infestation and I have no way of returning it to my hand. If you decide to do a build without infestation I would go with Grisly Salvage. Thanks for the suggestion though.
