Maybe Dragonlord Dromoka instead of Topan Freeblade. I don't think freeblade has very much purpose in here...

I somehow accidentally removed Dragonlord Dromoka. Did remove the Topan Freeblade on account of how many 2s I already have on the curve.

Its highly recommended to stick with the 60 minimum cards explaining the high cost of fetchlands. ( increase the odds of drawing a much needed card along the game.)

The mana curve is much better then before under 3. Good trick is to take the highest cost creature subs 1 and devide by 2 and stay under that curve.

I would recommand switching 2x Pacifism for 2 additional Valorous Stance or Dromoka's Command. And its mostly preference but i would sug replace youre 3 Enduring Scalelord for 3 Sunscorch Regent 1 mana cheaper and every time opponent CAST you +1/+1 him and gain a 1 life before the cast resolve or not . Topan Freeblade is really a Meehhh card. It can be cut out along with 1 plain and 1 forest to slim down to 60 cards or replaced be more valuable low cost Brave the Sands. Thero block ends in October. So Ordeal of Heliod will be illegal in standard so get 2 moreHardened Scales since you can stack those enchantement procks!

And i still think youre Elvish Visionary should drop : heres my reasonning - you make a chomp creature 1/1 soke up few bolters VS Servant of the Scale soking them all up and transfert them upon death. You possibily end up losing 1-4 bolsters. You want to fat-up scaly and youre other important creature faster like youre squishie 2/2 Anafenza, Kin-Tree Spirit. Also 2 Ana would be great. The odds or drawing early game Ana are gigantnormus (invented word) to be relevent.

In the long run if you feel land hungry wen testing youre deck go for Ainok Guide +1/+1 it if youre flooded and land fetch if you hungry or in need of a selected color. i use it in my deck along with Jeskai Barricade to bounce him back and proc Ana's bolster.

If you really need a card draw get Hallowed Moonlight that will deal with token deck or the dreadfull Secure the Wastes or Hangarback Walker

Feel free to look Hardened Scales MiracleGrow All cards contribute into making counters or aid into making counters. Deck weakness are heavy removal or control deck.

Also, if you have two Enduring Scalelords out, they play off each other for infinite counters

So... when do the infinite counters stop?

That's a dumb question, but can I stop putting on counters at some point?

To answer your question about infinite counters. It says you may. Meaning you chose when to stop.

Feat of Resistance is in sort a creature Hexproof and +1/+1 counter you see them in mostly all counter green-white deck. Center Soul is more viable but less aggro! You can still get youre creature saked by non-targeting spell that will bypass hexproof like Languish unless you exile it temporarily or blink it. All deck have weakness, its intended. You can only balance out a deck if you have some sort of retard OP cards.

For now youre deck feels late-mid game flyers and rely on late flyers bombs. You could cut on few creatures for more protection spells and add more synergic cards : switch 2x Anafenza, Kin-Tree Spirit with 2x Daghatar the Adamant or Managorger Hydra you will benefit more long term moving counter and adding some per spell cast by any source then casting creatures. Creature that come in with counter count as if they are added and triggers you scalelord ( verified ).

Since you play 8 flyers you can strip the 3x Abzan Falconer in favor of 3x Feat of Resistance. Servant of the Scale plays suicide yolo due to the counter transfert and dont need flying. Citadel Castellan is a solid card even if i dont like Renown. But you would gain more from a megamorph creature to add more kits like Den Protector 2 mana to deal with removal ( and combo well later with suicidal Servant of the Scale 2 green 1 colorless for 2 counters and 2 seperate procs) or Hidden Dragonslayer to add youreself 3 mana removal. Since you dont use the megamorph abilitie early you can save it to boost youre scalelord with the +1/+1 counter it generates.

Since the turn of youre deck, Ainok Guide are only start game useful and good chomp blocker and play early game defense line. Its purly tests option but it look like Frontier Siege would be more benefic : Soke up less bolsters then Ainok and leave more for Servant and since you play alot of flyer bombs. Good mid Game mana Gen ( khans ) Good late game creature removal ( Dragon ) : Whenever a creature with flying enters the battlefield under your control, you may have it fight target creature you don't control. ( 1 free kill instant speed ... yes plz !) or Gleam of Authority really don need to add more then prepare a calculator. Great on any creature but perfect on High Sentinels of Arashin. Wait WUUUT ? Vigilance to ?! Dang only missing some kind of counter gen ... NOO ! its have one ?? So you choose early basic Ainok , mid-late game control Frontier or mid-late finisher Gleam purely situationnal and should be sideboarded if no chosen.

Good tip to avoid some removal is to cast a creature that dont have any direct use this turn at youre second main phase. you commonly se someone cast a 3rd creature then att with the 2 untapped and bang opponant cast Languish to prevent de the dmg. youre 3rd creature would still be alive if you would had cast it after the attack phase.

Same thing for casting a cascade instant: say YOU and youre opponent have 10 lifes, you have 1x 4/4 base scalelord with 1 say 3/3 Servant and 2 Hardened scale enchant left on you board. Opponant have 2x Torrent Elemental and 1x Soulblade Djinn and mana up and posible spell in hand. He could swing next turn for 10 or posibly 13 and you cant block. no other choice you swing with the 2 creatures casting Feat of Resistance on scalelord to protect him from blue ( and cant be blocked by color choosen) you pump them to a 3/3 servant and 7/7 scale thinking they will block servant at least to prevent leathal and i still win with a next turn 12/12 scalelord .... Brilliant !!

and then he declares no blocker and castHydrolash You blast the great F bomb since he will still have 2 remaining life and you just sit and lose.

Or ... No other choice, you swing with youre 2 for 7 dmg. You dont know what card he have. he could block, but decide to not to and cast Hydrolash Since you dont need to fear for youre scale lord you cast youre Feat of Resistance on Servant pumping him to 6/6 and prock youre scalelord to 7/7 with hydro lash youre scale goes to 5/7 and you still win the Game GG

If you would had cast F of R in 1st scenario on servant its would had foced him to block youre 5/7 scalelord with 2 Torrent Elemental pumped to 2x 4/6 with Soulblade Djinn and Hydrolash. You end up F anyway!

It's just personal opnion on your deck, Arlionar. I thought having that many s was too heavy.

September 20, 2015 12:09 a.m.

First, I'll make my suggestions, then I'll explain them.

+1 Hardened Scales

+2 Dromoka's Command

+1 Managorger Hydra

+1 Anafenza, Kin-Tree Spirit

+4 Scythe Leopard

+4 Undergrowth Champion

+1 Evolving Wilds

-3 Forest

-3 Plains

-1 Dragonlord Dromoka

-1 Dromoka, the Eternal

-3 Enduring Scalelord

-3 High Sentinels of Arashin

-4 Salt Road Quartermasters

+As many as possible Collected Company

(in lieu of Collected Company, Gather the Pack is usable)

Alright, now my reasoning. First and foremost, there is no reason not to run a fourth Hardened Scales, unless the problem is simply that you don't own another. Second, you might notice that I recommended taking out all of your creatures with Converted Mana Cost greater than 3. The expensive creatures are exciting and impressive, but they simply aren't worth it, particularly on an aggressive plan like this deck is. You say in the description that control-heavy decks can shut you down, dropping your mana curve will help with that. It's far simpler to counter or kill-spell a Scalelord or a Dromoka than it is two or three smaller threats. In this deck, the new cards Scythe Leopard and Undergrowth Champion are really in a position to be huge threats. They can come out early and keep getting bigger as the game goes on, and even a single Hardened Scales turns them into huge threats in just a couple turns. I would HIGHLY recommend acquiring them as soon as possible. I suggested another Managorger and another Anafenza because both are cheap, efficient creatures that have a very large effect on the game. Also, 25 lands is a really high amount. An aggressive deck like this usually shouldn't be running more than 20. That said, I would recommend making Evolving Wilds a four-of, both for mana-fixing and for double landfall triggers. (Windswept Heath would admittedly be optimal, but it's kind of expensive.) Last, if you can run Collected Company as a four-of, you should do that. It's a very powerful card. However, because it's so powerful it is somewhat expensive. Adding Gather the Pack to this deck gives you the ability to dig for more of your threats if your opponent is able to continuously remove them, and also to keep the threats coming if you have the advantage.

Hope it helps. Good Luck.

no reason not to be running 4 dromoka's commands.

Ephemeral Shields could shield you from a bit of removal, maybe sideboard it?

Ephemeral Shields is out of Standard on the 2nd of October, but I'll put it on Maybeboard for when this deck eventually turns to Modern.

Should still have 4 Hardened scale not 3. Same thing for dromoka command 4 of them or feat or resistance. you can salvage mayby 1 Citadel siege and the 3 High Sentinels of Arashin.

Mark my word ... using 2 differents color type cards using 2 mana from the same color type like GG or WW or 1WW is risky and requieres alot of land control like dual lands or fetch lands. You will often end up not being able to cast them fast enought with bad draws. i use Sandsteppe Citadel to replace the Theros dual lands. And evolving wild works but fetch lands with 1 life cost are more aggro and can make win or lost in competitive game.

If it's in your budget either Drana, Liberator of Malakir or Hangarback Walker would work great in your deck.

With just 20 lands it seems like Citadel Siege is a bit high on the curve. Do you find that it often comes down late? I would probably cut at least two for two Feat of Resistance and possibly all four for the Feats plus two Valorous Stance or a 3/3 split of Feats and Stances. Seems like this deck wants to go low and fast and those cards will protect your threats, push damage through, and give you removal for things like Siege Rhino and Savage Knuckleblade which could otherwise wreck you. A higher count of instants plays well with Managorger Hydra as well and can help keep your opponent off balance. Nice deck. I have a G/W counters build that I have been testing recently.
