Wow, Allies at the GP and what's more, at 7-2? That's very nice. Guys, buy your Cavern of Souls, Vials and CoCos before they each go to $100 because Allies are too strong!

Now he might have just barely made it to Day 2 and lost every game from there on out (leading to 7-8), the fact that he doesn't get featured makes me believe he isn't doing too well. Nevertheless I am interested in his list, he ran a sideboard which was pretty heavy on artifact hate with Kataki, War's Wage, Qasali Pridemage, Reclamation Sage, Stony Silence. Also played with Adaptive Automaton.

hmmmm....so he has trouble with machines too.

Brionac: Oh boy thanks a bunch, "being featured" was meant as his match being broadcast live while the main feature match is between games. Mainly people who are in for Top 8 are being featured. He painfully lost to an Ensnaring Bridge in the game I watched.

I'm very disappointed with what has been spoiled from BFZ so far.... None of the Ally that was spoiled are viable for modern decks. My Naya Ally has yet to see any good "4 of" to replace the current allies, maybe a few "1 of" here and there but not much change from a returning theme

Johanson69 I'm starting to feel the green white red more than the 5c, but I'm not completely sold yet. I think my build has more umph. It seems to be hard to cast two drop non creature spells too when you have so many two drop creature spells. But alas, idk, maybe 5 colors is going to the wayside..... :-( At least people liked my idea of having hardened scales with it :-)

Hey, I've got an Ally deck you might find interesting: Angel of Entering the Battlefield. It's not a Modern deck, but all the important parts are Modern legal, so you could port it without much trouble.

It's a combo deck that uses Hedron Crab and Halimar Excavator to self-mill, then Unburial Rites on an Angel of Glory's Rise to get all the milled Allies onto the battlefield at once, which then usually insta-mills the opponents entire deck.

What to side vs lantern control? I like Leyline of Sanctity a lot and I am probably gonna add Kataki, War's Wage to my SB because it can be CoCo'd out which is relevant. I know the naya ally build will side in Ancient Grudge for sure.

i use hallowed moonlight, spells kites, surgical extraction, and qalsi pridemage to combat a variety of strategies for GW Allies. Let me know what you think of my build

Mdoodoo I think Lantern Scout has potential.

Yup. Lantern Scout is going to replace Talus Paladin in most lists. I'm not sure he will in mine though since I am using Mentor of the Meek for my draw engine, and scout doesn't draw with mentor.

Really fixes well and even has the ability to bounce one of our allies. Too bad it doesn't have the "can't be countered clause" from Cavern of Souls, but you can't have everything. Unfortunately this makes it a bit less likely that we get a Cavern reprint soon :/

Aubman will rejoice. More tools for his 5C Allies.But if I think about it, it's just like Cavern in that it doesn't help casting other non-Ally spells.

The upside is too good to pass up on it though. Save an Ally from a removal spell on a land? Pretty good. The sacrifice clause means we maybe have to play more lands though. Since losing a land when you only have a few really hurts.

Johanson69 Even if Cavern doesn't get reprinted, Encampment's going to be a really nice budget version of it that will probably be way easier to find. The bounce ability is also really cool in general, and can help deal with kill spells. Admittedly, it does this by sacrificing what might be your best land, but if it saves your win condition I'd still consider it.

ally encampment is a strictly 4-off. It's too darn good

It also allows for an extra ally trigger which can be crucial late game.

Brionac, dont forget cavern and this land taps for colorless, which helps somewhat.

aubman02 I'm mostly talking about providing non-white colored sources for non-Allies. I had that problem sometimes with the 5C Allies.
