Hello all, i was curious what people thought about tooth and nail in a selesnya allies build. its a bit more rampy than counter based. Ive posted a link to the deck before but here it is again, let me know what you think.

@LDM393
I'm not sure about T&N, Allies is more aggro than ramp. What would we grabbing thats worth 9 mana? And why would it be better to use T&N over CoCo or Aether Vial for advantage?
As for Unified Front? It could work, but I'd rather have more anthem allies than more triggers. I guess it's personal preference.

if you go for a more ramp ally strategy, with druid, then it has more possible grabs to enhance allies. If you looked at my deck, you would be able to see what I'm getting at...
And thats a fair point about unified front

Ramosgay, no, not at all. I'm unfamiliar with these type of decks at this point, however it seems that it would need a sac out let. I was thinking of splashing green for CoCo too so this may work well. I was thinking I would just attack in to the opponent and if they block, they die and it triggers or the lifelink triggers.
TranSpyre, lets talk some more back at the deck page. I'd like to weigh with you the pros and cons of doing this deck vs aristocrats.
LDM393 for Unified Will, my only problem is that it cost two mana, which makes it harder to cast since there are so many other two mana cards. I also plan on having a 4 of for the Ally Encampment, but besides that, I think you may be on to something. It's a little more inconsistent than Galvanic Blast for machines, but I think it could work a majority of the time.... I'm gonna add it to my maybe board and see what I can do with it, thx! I'm also gonna check out your Tooth and Nail allies deck.

LDM393 In your other post, you mentioned "Unified Front for 5 colors". I would just like to point out that that is impossible, since Unified Front costs 4 mana, that means you can use 4 colors at most.
Have you guys seen the new article on Allies: http://modernnexus.com/rally-to-the-ally-cause/His list is pretty strange, I think. He doesn't run Kazandu Blademaster and instead uses a lot of the new Allies.
September 23, 2015 6:56 a.m.
@Brionac, just because it is only going to get 4 total, doesn't mean it can't be good in a five color deck. That is still 4 ETB triggers for other Allies on the field, which is still impactful.

@Brionac I think the comments after the list hit it spot on the head.

TheDuggernaught, Roland is intense, but he very well articulates the problems with the deck. I'd like to see what he thinks of my brews.
But he is right about having too many utilities, which is why i just moved Lantern Scout to sideboard. Dang, that reminds me I need to put something in there concerning the changes I made. lol, who would've thought brewing will make you a better writer.

Yeah, it is good to have utility... but you also need to have an end game. I do not think his list is aggressive enough to win before mid range creature become a problem; and without more allies that grow, trading efficiently with those bigger creatures can become a big problem -- and this is coming from the guy (me) who, from what I have gathered, probably favors more utility based ally lists than the rest of the predominant ally brewers.

Maybe if it was a one of from the utilities, using my list, then drop the scales, drop the vial, and add some of the utility cards. I think that could have potential. Or just go way down, and use scales maybe as a 2 of and same for vial.

@LDM393
A big problem I'm seeing with some of the decks being proposed, not just yours, is that people seem to be trying to shoehorn the strategies of other deck into Allies. If you want to run Craterhoof, try Elves (built for ramping fast with an alternate wincon with Ezuri). If you want Emrakul, play Goryo's, TtB, or Gifts.
Allies are an aggro-utility archetype. We want as many small creatures as possible, each buffing the others up in some fashion. When we dilute that strategy by trying to add more, it makes both wincons inconsistent. A deck should be focused towards a single goal, and for Allies the most efficient goal is aggro.
@aubman02Approve me for chat, it'd be easier.

Decks running red, consider this card: Firemantle Mage. I overlooked this card and I think this gives the pseudo-unblockable or something that makes chump blocking harder.

When I pressed the upvote button I upvoted someone else's goblin primer instead. Explain.
September 24, 2015 3:20 a.m. Edited.
Is there a point to run Firemantle Mage when we already have Kabira Evangel?
Also, does Lantern Scout justify a slot in the MB ?
Would you run Boros Charm or Atarka's Command in the MB ?
(or maybe Dromoka's Command ?)
September 24, 2015 7:40 a.m.
From the colors, Dromokas Command is the easiest to cast. Any non creature spell with Red will not be easy to cast. But the reward maybe makes up for it.
September 24, 2015 7:54 a.m.
Boros Charm is very popular do to it's anti-boardwipe mode.

Dennis14 against affinity yes. Or, when our luck is out and we need that kind of card to help push through the last bit of damage.
September 24, 2015 8:21 a.m.
Good point about vs affinity xxDSJJxx I actually want to sideboard that now. Can you take a look at my mana base and see if it's reasonable to put in ? It also gets hit by coco. I might run one Sacred Foundry
September 24, 2015 8:47 a.m.
I have just yet started to run a Sacred Foundry to officially have a red splash for the Firemantle Mage and Battlesinger (removed the Swamp since I drew it and it was bad, but maybe I should remove something else?)
Would you guys mind looking over my build of Allies? I built it taking inspirations, cards and theories from all the people here. Abzan Allies (with red splash)

@Brionac
I'd drop a Brigand and a Survivalist for 2 Kalastrian Healers. I'd also drop an Evangel for a MB Firemantle Mage.
September 24, 2015 8:52 p.m.
TranSpyre Thanks for the suggestion. I already tested Kalastria Healer and have established that he is not what I want in this deck. His impact is too insignificant in my more aggro strategy and I would prefer to play Survivalist or even Brigand over him at any time.

Maaaaaaan, so yesterday evening I had a super stinky time in the single elimination 8 mans and 2 mans. I think the deck is fine, I just tend to make detrimental mistakes, such as sideboarding the wrong stuff etc. All that aside, I came across an ingenious allies deck. The guy played blue white green allies, mainboard Return to the Ranks and would self mill and bring back his stuff. He also won by milling out too. Consequently, I think I also lost due to not pathing his stuff when I had the chance. :-( Has anyone else seen this deck? He also ran like 4 druids to get the ramp going along with 4 CoCo.

Hi,aubman02, have you thought about adding Evolutionary Leap in your kamikaze build? It might proove useful both as a sac outlet and a way to get the key allies that mill / drain the opponents.
