S'kite is just one of those cards that never disappoints somewhere in the 75 of any deck.

Also, for anyone running green and Champion of the Parish, Eternal Witness is pretty sweet. You can get back your CoCo and recover anything else relevant. Pretty good value card for a flex spot.

Also, 10th place finish for allies (http://sales.starcitygames.com//deckdatabase/displaydeck.php?DeckID=92675). It's looking like we are a tier 2 deck (; It seems like an Ally creature base combined with 2 out of 3 of vial/coco/scales with some value spells is what it takes for this deck.

What interests me most in that list is the lack of AEther Vial I take it as a good sign. I have my ally deck finished except for Drana. I look to start taking it to FNM

Vial is bad right now just because any black/red deck maindecks Kolaghan's Command. The decks that do run vial also run 4x Suppression Field in the side. It allows them to take out vial when it's weak to play some prison mechanics out the board.

I like Drana but I'd also like him to be $5 :( lol

Drana is a girl x) and Yeah i don't want her at 18

Whoops! I actually didn't even realize this was the same Drana from Rise haha. Have a lot of standard lists been running her or is it mostly just hype from release?

Can you tell me why Suppression Field isn't more popular in Ally sideboards?I think the card is very good against a lot of decks, meta decks and non-meta decks alike. Shuts down Twin, Affinity (Arcbound Ravager), decks with a lot of Planeswalkers, Ad Nauseum (Lightning Storm) etc.

And it hits almost nothing we use except fetchlands and maybe a Harabaz Druid or a lone Mirror Entity

To run Suppression Field you need a white deck with little to no fetches and no activated abilities.. Allies is literally the only deck that can support this other than maybe a hatebears prison deck type thing. I don't see why people woundnt run it, but if you're all in on the druid+mirror combo or more than a splash into a third color, it gets hard to play around and win. I think Harabaz Druid might slip through as a mana ability, but I don't like her anyways unless you're all in on the combo with Mirror Entity. I only run 2 Mirror Entitities, so they usually get taken out anyways for the two fields. It really is a great card. Slam it down turn 2 and leave them unable to play while you ride a 1-drop to victory xD

Oh yeah, Harabaz Druid is a mana ability. Well that makes Field even better. Will definitely run it in my deck.

Hey ally players, I just put together a combo list for allies and have been playing it the practice rooms. It's been doing pretty good. You can check it out at Kamakaze Allies. Same name as a previous deck but very different. Let me know what yall think.

Hy! I have 1 suggestion - Flameshadow Conjuring :)

ahh... I could forgot. Your [+Upvote] is moves me to goblins. Could you fix this? +1

JLenzen says... #11

Flameshadow Conjuring would be neat in a casual deck. Unfortunately its a bit too slow for modern. Thanks for the catch on the upvote button though! it should be fixed now.

Hi dude, this are my two cents.

This is my ally deck that im testing..

4x Hada Freeblade4x Kazandu blademaster4x Jwari Shapeshifter4x Halimar Excavator4x Kalastria Healer4x Zulaport Cutthroat4x Kabira Evangel

2x Detention Sphere4x Ghostway2x Rally the Ancestors4x Join the Ranks

You should add Rally the Ancestors and Joind the rankds to mid tier support cards. Dont subestimate them. Join the ranks with Kabira evangel its a really good comb.

Tuned my deck slightly to remove some cards. I think it's much better as an all-in aggro now. let me know what you think of the deck

I'll just leave my 5C CoCo/Rally list here.

I think Beastcaller Savant is the card we'll look back on as finally breaking allies. Enables 5 color early and swings with Battlesinger off a CoCo or Rally the Ancestors.

In the individual evaluation of cards, you are underestimating some cards of the past and maybe aiming too much to the "Standard" niche. Saying Cloudshift ain't good enough for Allies is like saying bacon ain't good for a hamburger... Don't be so harsh on the old cards, as they haven't stopped working ;)

Anyway, you have a broken link in the Lantern Scout, within "High tier" in the White Allies description (you asked us to point these things out).

Cheers people, see ya'll around.
Oh, and my BFZ-updated list, for the curious ppl out there.

David Houghton maneuvered an all-in Naya Aggro list to finish day 1 of SCG Open Dalls as the second seed. Here's his list + deck tech. Looks pretty fun to me, as he said it seems like it could race many unfair decks. Looking forward to the results he puts up at day 2.

I don't see anything really revolutionary, he simply made the deck as aggressive and linear as possible. The only MB card that expects the enemy to do something of note is 1 Return to the Ranks, which I find sound. This might be the build to start from in the future.

haha he plays almost the same cards like me in my naya allies deck the only difference is that I play less creatures and I play some enchantments to support my warriors

I think the biggest interaction that I underestimated was Akoum Battlesinger and Kor Bladewhirl. This possibility has been around for awhile with Highland Berserker, but it basically ensures that your opponents can't block you, and they'll be incredibly afraid to attack if you have a Vial up.

Yeah, that combined with the fact that he goes balls-deep aggro (similar to Zoo/Naya Burn - everything serves to get Allies onto the battlefield as efficiently as possible) makes me think I've not been thinking of Allies as the pure Aggro deck. I got caught up in thinking about answers to Removal etc - the answer is to keep spamming the board and race the enemy.

I believe with a different Sideboard (eg gravehate, David lost hard to Footsteps Hulk combo), a lot can be accomplished with his list as a starting point. Also worth it to note that he plays 22 Lands like has been suggested on here for a while.

November 1, 2015 7:04 p.m.

Take his list, drop down to 4-5 fetches and run 3-4 suppression fields to swap with the vials. This deck only needs 3 mana to accelerate and relies on triggers while the opponent's strategy can get locked down by the suppression field. Am I the only person who's been impressed with the suppression field post-board strategy? :P

His list is pretty sweet though. Let's see if the next expansion drops something hardcore that can pull the deck up a tier. Personally I'd prefer a badass 1-drop or a 3-drop out of bolt range.
