I think that Warping Wail might need the vaults. Which in turn means that AEther Vial is probably a necessity.

Thoughts on the amount of colorless sources? Im thinking 10, maybe 11, but I feel like that might be pushing my luck with Kazandu Blademaster
January 15, 2016 11:10 p.m.
Remember that 8 of the colorless fix for Kazandu. But it depends on the amount of warping wail. If you only run like 2 mb and sb i think 10 would be proper. 4 encampment 4 cavern and 2 Mutavault, Ghost Quarter, Gavony Township, or something else.

Nice man, Ill post results with the list I'm running once Oath drops. This whole thread has been super helpful; its time to give back.

Would you mind making a list on tappedout? Maybe I could help you fine tune it.

JLenzen when you get it to I changed my deck so you're gonna have to change it in the "Deck Types" tab. Sorry xD No rush :P

Why would you play Warping Wail over Dromoka's Command, Atarka's Command or Boros Charm ?
It's effects don't seem as good.
January 15, 2016 11:36 p.m.
It adds a different form of utility. It can counter any sorcery spell so even if an opponent isn't running boardwipes it can be useful. It could counter Summer Bloom. That'd be funny. It can kill the twin combo, or can ramp you a mana which can be very useful. I'm not saying it's an auto include but I think it has potential and should be tested.
January 15, 2016 11:39 p.m.
How does it stop Twin ?
It counters sorceries and not enchantments.
As far as ramping goes I think that Atarka's Command can be as good (unless you don't have enough lands).
Overall it seems rather limited in use to me with the only (somewhat) relevant mode being the counter-sorcery.In this case it would just be better to splash blue for a better option imho.
January 16, 2016 12:11 a.m.
And you could easily be right and it could be just bad. But we won't know until testing!

Hey Nef, here's the list I plan on running after Oath drops.Tempo Allies
We tried to drop the curve to around two (since Reckless Bushwhacker will never be cast without surge) so we dont have to rely on Collected Company that much. We have lots of viable lines of play, and the Mutavaults are actually really good at giving us inevitability.

Was just looking over the above dozen or so comments and thinking about Warping Wall... and then flipped over to see that Twin and Bloom got the ban hammer! At least I could side board against Twin and at worst scare them badly. Now to figure out what to side against Eldrazi and Tron.
JLenzen - yeah, I've been really happy with the 19 land. The Harabaz druid and vial make it possible - as a sometime elf player I should have respected the druid, but I really underestimated it (turn three coco is nice!). I think the trick is just having to be comfortable mulling a bit more than with 21 or 22 (but still a lot less than if you're playing boggles). The only game I've felt like it hurt me was against Pox/Land Destruction, but I'm not sure a few more lands would help.

I find it quite ironic. The banning of twin kind of irritates me actually. I found it fun to board against. Always a tough match up but I didn't find it ridiculously over powered. Bloom I am a bit surprised about as well. Perhaps warping wail is just not good enough now.
January 16, 2016 4:38 a.m.
Well with twin banned i just might remove Suppression field from my SB, as it was the main reason i ran it really.
January 16, 2016 7:09 a.m.
Let's see how the whole twin thing evolves, maybe some of the players will play Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker instead?

Mifflaff Actually, I believe Suppression Field will be at least as good in the SB as before. It gives everyone who relies on activated abilites problems, which includes Jund, Tron and Affinity, aka the possibly strongest decks in the new format. I certainly won't miss Twin, as it forced you to play defensively as an aggro deck by threatening the T4 kill. Tron and Affinity mostly get wrecked by a package of Suppression Field and Stony Silence. Anyways, SB discussion are somewhat speculative as other decks might rise in popularity now. I'm almost certain though the the aforementioned 3 deck types will stay at the top.

JLenzen, I've added some notes to my 4-color deck (WurG Vial Allies). Is that the kind of thing you're looking for in make a useful addition to your "Deck Types" list above? Unlike the two there now, it uses Vial.
In the descriptions to the two there now, it looks like New Unity added a color (beyond the description) and All-in-Allies lost one.
On an unrelated note, I somehow had missed seeing Mothdust Changeling until today. Yet another not-quite-good-enough 1cmc "Ally".
As always, thank you for your work maintaining this great resource!

I agree, the stoney silence/supp field package is the best thing going for this deck out of the sideboard. Grixis control is also one of the most popular decks out there, and suppression field slows them down and drowns out jace. It usually also leaves them unable to cast their wrath spells.
The kiki combo is slow and fragile , and would force a midrangey RWx shell which has traditionally been too slow against aggro. I could see a RW kiki brew with maindeck moons doing well in certain metas, but I wouldn't worry about it.
However, with twin gone, maindeck land hate will likely go up, so I think it's a good time to consider running vials or a cleaner mana base if you don't already.

I've seen a couple Tuktuk Scrapper in sideboards. Anyone have an opinion of it's viability?

Nef - I have a challenge match this weekend against someone who often plays Lantern Control, and was thinking I would play Elves (with Shaman of the Pack to side-step bridge, and reclamation sage - possibly from chord). I'll have to think about Tuktuk Scrapper and going Allies now.
I'm torn between thinking that turn 4 is too slow against something fast like Tron (unless you got the Harabaz out), vs. thinking it might be perfect for getting that last bit of damage through to knock them out. The 4cmc is also annoying in terms of CoCo.
I'll see if I can talk our usual Tron player into letting me try it against them instead of Kataki in a few practice games. (I've gone 2-0 and 0-2 against him with Kataki so far, with most of the games being close).
January 29, 2016 9:50 a.m.
Yeah kataki might be just better. I have 2 Ancient Grudge along with 3 kataki so that might be enough

For the more aggressive lists out there, it can come in from the board and obliterate some matchups, being able to vial in allies and remove a twin target is stupid powerful; with path it solidifies the post-board matchups for decks with powerful sorceries or smaller creatures; it is even relevant in the mirror before a trigger resolves.
And yes, I am running 4 encampments and 4 caverns, but I still find issues from time to time. Maybe a way to solidify the colorless issue is to start running Mutavaults? Just a thought, would love to hear some more elaboration on this subject
