UPDATE: Gonna experiment with Vish Kal, Blood Arbiter as commander (replacing Syr Cadian, Knight Owl)

Haven't had a chance to playtest this deck yet. The intention is that it can either beat down or go grindy. A big part of the game plan is to use the life gain from the commander to fuel cards like Greed.

There are a few infinite combos in the deck, all based around using Haakon, Stromgald Scourge and a cost reducer like Gravebreaker Lamia to endlessly recur a colorless knight like Universal Automaton. None of these combos work if Haakon is exiled.

Pyre of Heroes seems like an MVP. It can turn a random two drop knight into Haakon, who can get back that knight, and from there you can do all sorts of crazy things.

The whole deck is pretty budget except for the Bolas's Citadel. But c'mon, that card is too fun not to shell out some money for. Cards like Thalia's Lancers and Acclaimed Contender do a good job of grabbing that card from your deck.

If my opponents don't let me play an unmander, I guess I'd just say that Syr Cadian is a basic plains, and use Aryel, Knight of Windgrace as the commander instead.
