Maybeboard

Built on the traditional Aether Vial/Standstill platform, Fishdom takes a rather big step away from the Legacy metagame Fish. Gone are the Mutavaults, replaced by the older tournament favorite, Rishadan Port. Gone are the Cursecatchers, replaced by Grimoire Thiefs for beefy grind/counterspell. Silvergill Adept is swapped out for the wacky Seahunter to fish under Standstill, and land control redundancy with Reef Shaman, Spreading Seas and Rishadan Port can buy plenty of early game time to dump your hand. Merrow Reejerey is effectively mana ramping/tribe discount after the 3rd turn, and can either untap lands or tap a lone blocker, or tap/retap Grimoire Thief and Aether Vial.

There are 7 ways to force islandwalk, 11 cards to screw your opponent's mana base, 7 cards for drawing, 7 cards for playing merfolk around Standstill, 11 effective counterspells, 12 merfolk lords, and even more subtle tricks that showcase the synergy and versatility of this card match-up. Playtest a few times to see the possibilities, i guarantee it'll surprise you 8D
